Caimh McDonnell is the internationally bestselling author of the Dublin Trilogy which is set in his hometown. His debut novel 'A Man with One of Those Faces' – a darkly comedic crime thriller – was published in 2016. It went on to spawn the increasingly uncountable Dublin Trilogy (seven and a half books and counting) and the McGarry Stateside series. The books have been ranked #1 in their Amazon categories in the UK, Ireland and the USA, have been translated into several languages and optioned for television. He also writes the critically acclaimed ‘The Stranger Times’ series under the name of C.K. McDonnell. These books combine his distinctive dark wit with his love of the weird and wonderful to deliver a celebration of how truth really can be stranger than fiction. The former professional stand-up comedian and TV writer has performed all around the world, had several well-received Edinburgh shows and supported acts such as Sarah Millican and Gary Delaney on tour before hanging up his clowning shoes to concentrate on writing. His TV writing work has seen him work on some of the biggest topical comedy shows on British TV and has earned him a BAFTA nomination. Born in Limerick and raised in Dublin, he has taken the hop across the water and calls Manchester his home. Caimh can be found happily writing his next book in the office in the back garden, with his two dogs, Diller and Jackson, and his imagination for company. Praise for McDonnell’s writing: 'Poignant, suspenseful and gut-bustingly funny' Wall Street Journal ‘The one-liners zing, the dialogue is a tennis match of witty banter’ The Financial Times ‘Wonderfully dark, extremely funny, and evocative of Terry Pratchett – which I think is the highest compliment I can give.’ ADAM KAY, bestselling author of This is Going to Hurt 'Great characters, a jet-propelled plot, and a winning premise' ERIC BROWN, The Guardian ‘The adventures of Caimh McDonnell’s detective Bunny McGarry are tightly plotted, hilarious, and offer the vicarious pleasure of seeing the deserving walloped with a hurley.’ The Spectator, Books of the Year 2020 'A brilliant comedic thriller' The Irish Post 'One of the funniest crime books you'll ever read' The Express ‘Hysterically funny’ The i Paper ‘Ripping entertainment from start to finish.’ The Times
