Summary

Hope and Nick are on leave from the Army when Nick receives word his sister has gone missing. Beth, a want-a-be investigative reporter, has been digging into the disappearance of her childhood friend who's been missing for five years. They soon discover she isn't the only one unaccounted for in the area and the closer they get to the answers that will lead to Beth, the more dangerous it becomes.

Thrown into the volatile situation are the personal struggles of Nick and Hope. Nick, suffering from PTSD, is a powder keg ready to explode. Hope, facing her own demons, is his lifeline to sanity. She has to convince him he needs help or their whole world might come crashing down. Nick is a proud Ranger though. Admitting his weakness could destroy the respect and trust of the men who depend on him. It's not a risk he's willing to take.

Exciting!

This series has it all! This fifth book in the series is action packed! Anne Patrick centers the focus on Nick and Hope. Both on leave, they are flying back home to Nick's family where his younger sister Beth is missing. A copy girl yearning to move up to reporter, she has been researching the disappearance of her friend. Little did she know what she would uncover and the danger it brings. Patrick does not stop there though. She adds several other secondary stories, one of dealing with PTSD and it's realities as well as bullying. She weaves it all together so we are completely engrossed in the lives of these characters, wanting to find out the outcome. All with a faith based theme, she had my attention from start to finish. Adding in a few characters from the first 3 books of the series, it made for a community feel with these veterans and a fantastic, thrilling mystery.

It's all brought to life by Leonor A Woodworth. She is the voice of this series and brings out all the feelings and excitement of each story. As Nick and Hope, she lets us in, bringing all their emotions to the forefront and letting us take their journey together. It's fast paced, and high suspense with Woodworth keeping us on the edge. I love her narrations and look forward to more.
