Summary
When everyone on the planet suddenly freezes in place a single artificial intelligence threatens the survival of humanity.
From bestselling author R. R. Haywood comes a heart-pounding sci-fi adventure about a group of survivors fighting to take down the all-powerful DELIO - the world’s first fully sentient AI.
When a mysterious event leaves nearly every human being on the planet frozen and unaware, a desperate few will do whatever it takes to prevent the AI from controlling the fate of humanity.
In New York, one of DELIO’s creators joins forces with a washed-up suicidal detective and a young film maker with a dark past, while in London convicted drug dealer Alfie is saved by an abused young woman trafficked into London – together, only they can stop DELIO.
But can they do it before it’s too late?
This book contains adult language and graphic scenes which some listeners may find distressing.

Captivating
The only dislike with the book is that I will have to wait sometime before the next instalment.

Sheer genius
Love the use of 2 narrators. I’ve read all of RR Haywood’s work and I admit I’m an addict. This looks like being another level. It’s real time as in today. Real people as in flawed. They are annoying funny inappropriate and clumsy. They are angry vengeful and sometimes plain stupid. It’s intriguing and charming and on occasions disgusting and disturbing. I love the humour. If you don’t get into it immediately keep going because you will totally love it. Could this happen. I think it could. Thanks RR Haywood. I am looking forward to phase 2.

Brilliant
Absolutely loved this, the story is great and the performances, especially by Aikman, are excellent. It’s such a pleasure to listen to a brilliant story told so well. For once there were no mispronounced works or odd accents, it all flowed perfectly. Will seek out other works by both the author and Aikman. Can’t wait for the next book.
The story is complex and at first I thought is was going to be too slow and disjointed, but it comes together beautifully. Each character is well-written with enough back story to keep you interested.

OMG this is brilliant!
I loved this book, the author is just so clever! It has some comedy, some really thought provoking gritty bits ( yes, some questionable British accents) but is overwhelming fascinating and a little bit scary!
Please hurry with the next book because I’m desperate to know what happens to these characters.

Language advisory appreciated.
But, it was in context with the characters and their environment, so I didn't find it overly offensive. Just a reflection of our declining world.

Amazing. Can’t wait for the next.
A must listen.
The dog had his best day ever. Best day ever.
This is the first I hope in a series. It’s just the best one I have listened to for a while.
Would of happily paid a credit for.
Seriously the dog had the best day ever.
The right amount of humour in a techy dark sci-fi meets dystopian. Tackling subjects with thoughtfulness.
I absolutely loved it. Narrated beautifully.
Did I say the dog had the best day ever.
