Summary
Until, that is, everything goes pear-shaped and she finds herself being frog-marched to the Cloisters - Dublin's answer to the Betty Ford Clinic. She's outraged. Surely she's not thin enough to be an addict?
Rachel isn't expecting plump, middle-aged men in brown jumpers, and more group therapy than you can shake a stick at. Heartsick and Lovesick, she seeks redemption in the shape of Chris - a man who might be more trouble than he's worth.

Loved it!!!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It is a great read, very engaging and for those who follow Walsh family yet another good story about Walsh sisters.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved Rachel and her delusions how everything she did was under control. The slow reveal of Rachel true addiction was quite shocking as through her rehab I couldn’t get that she was so much suffering or had any withdraw symptoms. But then again the book offers true and lies, and for most of the time the reader can only relay on what Rachel is saying.
What about Gerri Halligan’s performance did you like?
Love irish accent, very well read book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Rachel relationship with her mum. I think mummy Walsh should be a little bit more shaken but I guess she is just mummy Walsh and everything is great :)
Any additional comments?
This is definitely book I will read/ listen to again.

Gripping
It took me a while to get into this book - at first I was so exasperated by the heroine and felt that the novel was more like a handbook to addiction recovery than a work of fiction. But the, bingo, the magic happened and I couldn't stopped listening. Gerri Halligan's narration is superb. The scene with the drunken dentist had me in hysterics - it was one of the funniest episodes I have ever listened to.
I loved the family dynamics between the sisters and their parents - the camaraderie of the inmates at the rehab unit and the wonderful boyfriend Luke.

Great listen
A great listen and insight into the world of addiction and recovery. Having recently given up alcohol I found it fascinating. Really enjoyed the family dynamic and the humour. The clever writing which makes the characters and story come to life.

One of my favourite books
I read Rachel’s holiday back in the day and was looking for something entertaining and easy for a journey. I have so enjoyed it on Audible, it’s given it a new lease of life. I love the Walsh family sagas and now plan to get them all again and enjoy them in this form. Love Marian Keyes, you can’t go wrong!

Brilliant escapism based in raw reality
Brilliant performance, Getti has such a wonderful, warm voice.
I enjoyed this book so much from the raw emotions, denial, exciting sex scenes to the psychological analysis which holds a mirror to everyone’s life and made me reflect on mine while racing through this wonderful story praying for a happy ending. I’ve recommended it to everyone! (And my husband laughed along whenI had it on the loud speaker). Hilarious and poignant x

Marian Keyes at her finest.
I absolutely love this book. I have read it on real paper, kindle and just finished the audio book. Still love it just as much. I will say that I am not too fond of the woman who narrates as she *almost* has an English accent, but that does not take away from the book in any way shape or form. In fact I have just purchased Watermelon which I believe to be the same narrator, so she has not put me off or anything. This book is such an interesting read, it is funny, sweet, heartbreaking and warm from start to finish. This story is all too familiar to a lot of people who have / are struggling with addiction themselves, or know & love people who are. I love Marian as a writer, so please if you are thinking "Will I?"... do, you will definitely not regret it.

Heartwarming and hilarious.
It took me a few chapters to get fully immersed, due I think to the central characters portrayal as not entirely likeable initially.
Once drawn in I was hooked and thought it was a wonderfully insightful portrait of Rachel's personality and addictions.
The characters were skillfully brought to life in all their complexities and contradictions, both by the author and the phenomenal narration by Gerri Halligan.
I'm sorry I won't be hanging out with Rachel to see what challenges she faces next and broken hearted that I'll never got to ask leggy Luke if 'a ride is out of the question?'

Every emotion under the sun
I’m in tears at the ending of this book. I loved every chapter, laughed, cried, cringed and sighed. The narrator done a fab job. Excellent story and one which gives lots of food for thought in the experience of a recovering addict.
