Summary
A spicy, only-one-bed Formula 1 romance from New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg.
Surely this can’t be the only solution to overhaul my tarnished rep—faking a romance with the good girl intern?
But that’s what my agent says. Just a few months of taming my ways—of shedding Formula 1’s party boy image—will land me a lifetime branding deal. One I desperately need.
The key condition?
Pretend I’m madly in love with my new girlfriend. The quiet wallflower who I figured wouldn’t put me in my place. Yeah. This girl is anything but that.
Maddix Hart is defiant and intelligent. Loyal and real. Determined and sexy. And damn it to hell, before I know it, she’s in my head, in our bed . . . and if I’m not careful, she’ll see there’s more to me than the man I show the public. She’ll discover the man I hide from the world. The one who struggles to live up to the unrealistic expectations that should never have been mine.
All I have to do is make sure no one sees the truth behind our farce.
But instead, I let my heart get involved. I begin to believe the lie. And now with everything on the line—the deal, a championship, us—am I willing to risk it all to make her see what the rest of the world believes? That we belong together.

Loved it!
Before I picked up Off The Grid (Book 1) it had been a while since I had read anything by K. Bromberg but after finishing that book, I was hanging for On The Edge (Book 2) so when I got it I devoured every single word and of course, the author put done herself and raised the bar with this one!
Cruz is the legacy of the Navarro family when it comes to Formula 1, he’s famous and he’s also a party boy. He’s currently up for a big brand deal and his father and team are on his back and to get them to back off, he needs to get it which means changing everything about himself. He’s an extremely great driver but his actions outside of racing. His partying and playboy ways are not what’s favoured by the brand, so they come up with an idea to have him settle down into a relationship with someone and clean up his image.
Maddix works with the brand that is taking on Cruz. She wants to move up and learn more in the company so she sits in a meeting with what she only knows as the new client of the business. Little did she know that it was the number one playboy of F1, Cruz. When the company tells Cruz that he needs to find someone to fake a relationship with and “settle down”, instead of him choosing some girl he’s already been with and already knows, he has his eyes on Maddix and asks her. She goes from working in an office to being in one of the world’s best and sexiest F1 driver's arms and living his glamorous life.
I loved these two together. These two wouldn’t be more opposite if they tried. The banter between these two was fun and had me laughing throughout the book. They had no problem pressing each other’s buttons, they knew what buttons to push! They also had no issue calling each other out when needed...I am a sucker for a reformed playboy and Maddix was the most perfect woman to reform him. They were perfect. This romance was a slow-burn romance and an Insta-lust attraction. It was made obvious that they wanted each other, you could see the chemistry and sexual tension unfold between the two of them. But they also slowly learned things and got to know each other as they developed feelings for each other and their feelings just continued to get stronger the more they got to know each other and it was so pleasant to read.
This was just an incredible instalment in the Full Throttle series. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. It was extremely well written and so easy to get lost in the story.

An interesting twist to fake dating!
This was such an interesting take on the fake dating trope. I liked how Maddix and Cruz were brought together to pull off their relationship and how eventually their feelings became real. The F1 parts were some of my favourite bits I know K Bromberg is a fan so she really knows what she’s talking BG about when writing about it without making it difficult for non F1 fans. I also enjoyed that parts about Cruz’s family as part of the subplot I was very intrigued by what made Cruz the way he was. Just wish there was more detail for the mental healthcare due to the panic attack at the start and Maddix being the one to help Cruz. The narration from both narrators was great they pulled off both characters really well, I especially loved Robert’s variety of accents!

Cruz & Maddox
Cruz has the weight of legacy on his shoulders and a detached family determined to not value him; Maddox has a love fest type family but is constantly overlooked at work. Their fake relationship taught both the importance of so much it was great to see these two developing into better versions of themselves.
Robert Hatchet was the perfect voice for Cruz: determined, strong and seductive. Kit Swann was amazing as the sweet and self assured Maddox.

spicy F1 romance
📖: 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5/5

On the Edge is the second book in the Full Throttle series by K Bromberg. It follows Cruz Narvarro, the prince and playboy of F1, and Maddix, the woman forced to pretend to be his girlfriend to remedy his public image and advance in her career.
I really enjoyed this story! I felt like there was a lot of growth for Cruz, given the trauma that he's working with, such as abandonment and the weight of family responsibility. Despite this, I loved the positive relationships he did have within his family and with the other drivers.
I enjoyed the HEA as Maddix was still able to pursue her own dreams, although we don't hear how she makes it work and I wish this had been clearer. I thought her support system was amazing and added such a great side to her character, particularly Tessa and her parents.
I wish the Michael thing had developed into something a bit more, and was maybe the cause of a bit more drama as I love an external issue over an internal one. That would probably be my biggest issue with the story!
I though the narration, performed by Kit Swann and Robertsl Hatchet, was really good. I thought the Spanish accents done by both were on point for me, as was the English, but I was not convinced by the brief bits of Aussie!
Overall, a great listen, and I will definitely be looking out for the rest of this series (and I have since gone back to listen to Off the Grid, which was also a top notch listen!)

This book totally made my heart race!
K. Bromberg writing another racer series – I’m in heaven. Ever since Driven I’ve been hooked on that type of romance, and who better to provide with more of it than the author herself? And ON THE EDGE … boy, it’s so, so good. It takes off in a whirlwind start and only gets better from there.
Cruz. Cruz. Cruz. Playboy extraordinaire and world famous F1 driver with a chip on his shoulder – and swoon material extraordinaire. Maddix. Sweet. With wallflower-ish tendencies – until Cruz makes her come out of his shell. They don’t make sense, so surely the fake relationship to improve Cruz’s image will never work, but somehow, they just fit.
Their storyline for sure is nothing new, but the heartfelt, beautiful way it was told kept me engrossed in their journey. Add in the new tidbits of the Formula 1 world, and it was close to perfection. An intoxicating blend of adrenaline and romance.
Kit Swann and Robert Hatchet both were new to me narrators and did an amazing job enhancing the story, the emotion and all-around experience of this story with their performance. This most definitely won’t be the last audio book I’ve listened to by either of them!

An Absolutely Wonderful Romance & Narration🎧
It is great to be back in K. Bromberg’s exciting Formula 1 racing world again for another amazing and smoking hot sports romance novel. This book is Cruz Navarro and Maddox Hart story, a story that not only captivated my attention the entire time, but tugged on my heartstrings too. Cruz has racing in his blood, his father raced before him and you would think he would be his biggest supporter, instead he is his toughest critic and not in a good way. Cruz is going to make a name for himself in the circuit and racing world, but he also made a name for himself as the bad boy party goer. His agent is working on some sponsor deals that would set him up for life, except the sponsors are hesitant to sign him because of his reputation. They present him with an ultimatum to clean up his image, and his bad-boy ways, and show the world he is settling down. Maddox Hart was looking to advance her marketing career, heard about the new client they were signing up, and wanted in on the meeting. Her boss allowed her to sit in, telling her to set up the meeting room, while up there she saw someone on the verge of a panic attack and she talked him down. Not having any knowledge of the Formula 1 race world, she had not known that person was Cruz and the client they were signing on. She also did not know what her boss was planning. Cruz was adamant about signing, wanting his independence from his father and to be set for life financially, so he agreed to go with their new plan, except for one thing. He was not picking his fake girlfriend from the choices they were ready to present. He pointed to Maddix and chose her instead. Maddix’s boss convinced her to go with the plan, that it would further her career, but she had no idea what she was getting into and neither did Cruz. K. Bromberg puts a unique spin on the fake relationship trope, I loved the complexity of the characters and how everything played out, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. This story is entertaining and has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. K. Bromberg, thank you for another brilliant story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the wonderful narration, Robert Hatchet and Kit Swann are the perfect cast to bring these characters to life.Their did an amazing job portraying the characters, and I loved how they took each role, ran with it and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the character would sound. Hatchet nailed it as Cruz, grasping his every aspect of his personality, from his cocky side to his insecurities, and all in between. Swann’s Maddox was spot on, she too grasped every aspect of her personality, her strength and determination, her wit and her caring heart. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and their narration elevates this already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Love the track!
It was time to enter the Formula 1 racing world again, and I loved meeting Cruz Navarro! Bromberg has given him all the arrogance, confidence and looks to make him the perfect winning driver. But his reputation precedes him, causing sponsors to look down on him. Now to secure the biggest contract of his life, he is forced to clean up his act by finding a girlfriend and acting the part. But they have already have several for him to pick from. Being the rebel he is, he immediately points at Maddix, sitting at the meeting table, and a woman who helped him previously that day. Yes, she is gorgeous, but definitely not his type and the kind that will fix his reputation, no strings attached. Maddix wants to climb up the corporate ladder, and this may be her big break. She decides to go, and the two are off and running. But what is truly their roles? Cruz is beyond charming and Maddix can see how he has gotten his reputation. There is something about Maddix that Cruz is drawn to. Can they do the relationship thing with an end date? There is so much packed into this amazing story. Easy to read, I was immersed into their world, dealing with family, rumors, work, and feelings. I couldn't get enough! This is a fabulous story and one that I totally fell for.
Robert Hatchet and Kit Swann are the storytellers and they bring out every feeling with such ease, it was like they were Cruz and Maddix. Hatchet comes in with all the confidence and charm, adds in the accents when necessary and had me falling in love immediately. Swann is perfect as Maddix. Hesitant, yet completely allured by Cruz, building her own self esteem and flowing with emotion. I loved these two together for this performance and enjoyed every minute.

Great character development...
On the Edge is book #2 in the Full Throttle series and it's a fake dating, Formula 1 sports romance. Cruz is a wild child formula 1 racer who is racing royalty and Maddix is the sweet, wallflower who pretends to be his girlfriend for his image. You get great character development throughout. It has all the feels, steam, and chemistry that is off the charts. An enjoyable read.
Robert Hatchett and Kit Swan did a fabulous job portraying these characters and bringing them to live. Well done.
