Summary
Power is returning to the world after millennia, ancient constructs are stirring back to life, and one man is doing his best to ignore all that noise.
Fischer has everything he needs in life: blossoming friendships, a menagerie of cute animal companions, a waterfront property with easy access to fishing, and enough coffee to take out a small elephant or a really big dog.
Unfortunately, Fischer can’t catch a break. Cosmic forces? Still throwing curveballs. The bigwigs in the capital? Starting to sniff around his business. Cults? Still culting. Plus, awakened beings are washing up on his shores like flotsam after a storm. And worst of all? His coffee guy ghosted him!
It’s a lot for one heretical fisherman to handle. Thankfully, Fischer isn’t alone. Between his trusty guard crab, a mischievous otter who can wreathe herself in lightning, and an adorable bunny eager to solve every problem with a roundhouse kick, he’ll be just fine . . . probably.
The second volume of the laugh-out-loud LitRPG adventure series—a #1 Rising Star on Royal Road with more than three million views—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!
Critic reviews
“I can’t think of a single story I’d rather get truck-kun’d (truck-kunned?) into than [that of] the vivid, lush world portrayed in Heretical Fishing, especially if I can hang out with Fischer and his gang. . . . The best book I’ve read this year.” —Matt Dinniman, author of Dungeon Crawler Carl

Not as great as the 1st one
The first book was interesting as it was a beginning of the story and a new world but this book simply carried on without too much to give or at least it felt like the story had no purpose and everything just happened.

Mmmm
It was okay, not as good as book 1. Something felt amiss, perhaps, I wasn't into all the unnecessary crying.

Excellent slice of life
I'm so glad I gave this a try. There isn't as much action as most LitRPGs but it is a fun and enjoyable listen.

lovely chilled listen
nice contrast to the usual "get powerful or die" litrpg books, the main character just wants a peaceful life of fishing and chilling out, but others are scared of his growing power, so he's forced to act. a bit. then go back to fishing :)

Fun, slice of slice with depth and potential
I recommend this to all. It's family friendly but interesting for all. The characters and side characters are loveable and entertaining. I can't wait for book 3.

More of what you love about the first book.
I came to this hoping to find a clone that's like beware of chicken and was not disappointed. the book isn't a Copy of anything though.
two of my favourite series are 'Beware of Chicken' and 'He who fights with monsters' imagine my shock when I found a series that has essentially the amazing protagonist from he who fights with monsters, in a story similar to beware of chicken.
