About this listen
The Wandering Inn, Book 1, has been rewritten by pirateaba and re-recorded by Andrea Parsneau. This revised edition includes new scenes and perspectives.
"No killing Goblins."
So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours.
It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.
In a dangerous world where magic is real and people can level up and gain classes, Erin Solstice must battle somewhat evil Goblins, deadly Rock Crabs, and hungry [Necromancers]. She is no warrior, no mage. Erin Solstice runs an inn. She's an [Innkeeper].

Good story; superb narration.
I suspect that, had I started reading this in text form, I probably would not have persisted beyond the first chapter, with its litany of unpleasant and disgusting events. However, even if you dislike this 'feel-bad' beginning, it is worth persisting. Essentially, a twenty-year-old American girl finds herself transported to a parallel world structured around video-gaming principles, with characters in classes at different levels and the ability to earn special skills. Sounds a bit trite, perhaps, but the treatment is good, and the scenes are well written, with plenty of narrative hooks.
What makes this very special, however, is the amazing narration by Andrea Parsneau. I can honestly say I have never heard the like. It is an amazing experience to hear her narrating an argument between multiple characters - old and young, male and female and even insectoid. It genuinely feels as though there are separate characters in the room. This amazing virtuosity raises an already good story to a superlative level. Despite my initia raction, I found myself being delighted that the story was so long, and immediately bought the sequel!

Erin Solstice ??
Fantastic book!! I was gripped from the beginning and what an emotional rollercoaster it was. The narrator gave an exceptional performance with so many voices in her arsenal. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy. I took a gamble on this book after finishing Brandon Sanderson's latest book and by I'm so glad I did. Can hardly wait to listen to the next !! 😍

Great work.
Hard to get started due to it's original themes but well worth it, and develops into a gripping listen that is hard to put down.

Bravo! What a journey!
At first I wasn’t sure I’d like this one but boy was I wrong.
Nice immersion into a world that was new and exiting! Character backstory well thought out and the way the scenes were written was excellent, felt I was there in the room.
Lvling system had a cool twist.
The running part didn’t annoy me at all, my take on it if you like running you can more see where she is coming from, didn’t really like her tantrum in the fight scenes too whiny and well I felt it was out of character but still perhaps understand if she was always picking fights in her former life, but this a bit over the top.
The narrator is a really price here! Excellent voice acting! The person responsible for the accent for the drakes and most of the ants is a genius! Beautiful voice acting at its best!
And the cute meets - well played!

A good RPG style book
it's a easy (at times) to listen to book, it has a good depth to the story and I feel the author has started to build a true world to expand on. (like LOTR did).
the voice actor does a great job, but there are lots of people and sometimes the voices are very similar so i struggle to keep track.
my biggest problem is the book can get lost on insignificant details and drag on.
overall I like the book and I'm invested in the series.

So much better than expected
At first I was put off by the preview of the narrator. After an hour, I learned that I was ignorant. It was read brilliantly, the story was solid, it keeps progressing and finishes off leaving you wanting a lot more. I recommend giving it a go.

A great story
Overall a great story and good narrator. It takes a common plot and setting and gives a new spin to it. Only downside I found was that some points in the story was repeatetive(these parts where far apart and not too common)
