Summary
A peaceful organization of civilized planets is faced with a threat to their very existence. Desperate to save themselves, they turn for help to the most brutal, backward, violent species in the known galaxy: humans.
Growing up in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event known as "The Bad Week" hasn't been easy for Cross Agarwal. Decades ago, in a world before The Bad Week, he would have been graduating from college, starting a career, and living on his own. But in a post-apocalyptic time when mankind is in ruins and on the verge of self-destruction, Cross works in his father's subterranean cobra farm, tries to avoid getting involved in the turf war between his town and the Southern Basin, wondering if his future will ever be anything but bleak.
When a group of aliens appears by surprise and invites a select group of humans to join them, it could be Cross's chance to not only find his own place in the universe, but to also help prove that humanity is good for more than just violence.

A breath of fresh air
I really needed this book. I've been forced to endure too much bad literature as of late and this fantastic book came along at just the right time.
Scott Meyer is a brilliant humorist. Luke Daniels does a fantastic job of bringing it to life. Now I won't say I love all of Scott's books, but I do enjoy most of them.
This book is a phenomenal satire on both post-apocalyptic literature as well as sci-fi. The character cast of post-apocalyptic psychopaths are utterly charming and the story is a journey of cozy and hilarious ultraviolence.
It is very well written, it is genuinely funny and just pure enjoyment. You won't regret buying this book and I also recommend checking out his other works (you'll want to after reading this, trust me).

Great fun
I really enjoyed this story. It was filled with space attacks, aliens, stabbings and great characters.
First time listening to the author but I'll happily go onto his other series.

:( I wanted to like this book
This was such an excruciating read. It was repetitive and boring. The characters are annoying and unlovable imo.
I had never once heard someone say ‘for shs sake’ in my life before this book. Then I heard it said another hundred more times. I think it’s because you can’t get away with any other words? But still it was overused.
I stopped paying attention about two thirds in.

Light hearted soft sci-fi fun
Entertaining as ever, Meyer brings his trademark humour and reluctant everyman protagonists to a post-apocalyptic earth. The refusal to get bogged down in what 'the bad week' actually consisted of sets the tone for a fun adventure that is not concerned overly with building a logical, ordered universe or with any questions that don't further the plot or humour. As long as you're prepared to go along with this, it's a great time and a very enjoyable listen. The narration is excellent, adding to the humour and doing a great job of bringing the characters to life.

A Space Comedy of Dumbness
All human and alien characters in this story are dumb, and that drives the plot. So if you’re into stupidity with comedy violence, then this is the ludicrous space adventure for you.

A fun and light sci-Fi
A fun sci-fi, cleverly written by a fan of the genre. Excellent performance.
If you enjoyed Scott Meyers previous works I recommend this.

Fantastic
Another of Scott Oscar Meyers amazing comedic stories along with Luke Daniels amazing performance bringing the work to life. If you enjoy Scott's Wizard 2.0 series, then this is another story bringjng the same level of humour to your ears. lots of laugh out loud moments that took me through painting the house and strange stares at the gym!
