About this listen
The epic series from #1 bestselling global phenomenon author Sarah J. Maas continues with a stunning story of love, war, and revenge.
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s actions and learn what she can about the invading king threatening to bring her land to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit.
One slip could bring doom not only for Feyre but for everything—and everyone she holds dear.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre endeavors to take her place as one of the High Fae of the land, balancing her struggle to master her powers—both magical and political—and her love for her court and family. Amidst these struggles, Feyre and Rhysand must
decide whom to trust among the cunning and lethal High Lords, and hunt for allies in unexpected places.
In this thrilling third book in the Court of Thorns and Roses series, the fate of Feyre’s world is at stake as armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy it.

Where is Jennifer Ikeda?
Why would you bring in a new narrator for the final book of this series after all the characters and the rhythm are established? The jolt is harsh. Jennifer Ikeda is fabulous and I am entirely disappointed with the change. Poor decision.

A stunning end to a beautiful trilogy!
As always Sarah does not disappoint. This story is so riveting and full of love, lust, friendship and tragedy. The narrator does a great job of sounding as you would imagine the characters to be but I do feel that some emotions/feelings weren’t conveyed in the dialogue.
Other than being a thoroughly entertaining read there were some aspects which felt thrown in for the sake of diversity. Don’t get me wrong - I agreed that these novels need to better represent minorities/genders/sexualities but it didn’t read as easy as you’d expect. It was like a last minute choice. Anyway, I still love the way each character progressed even if it didn’t necessarily feel like the right time for that arc. Feyre and Rhys having to navigate their new found love is also interesting.
Overall, I love this audiobook. Which is saying something as it’s the first book I’ve read and then listened to after already knowing the ending. Sarah has done is again! Still my favourite trilogy of all time (second to LOTR).

Good move changing narrator
I just wanted to throw in that I think the change in narrator was a good move in my opinion. Jennifer Ikeda was great, but the character has come along since then and I thought Amanda Leigh Cobb did a better jobs of conveying Feyre's now stronger and more passionate character.

Great finish
4.5 stars
This was a different ride to the two previous books in the series but it delivered. The focus was strategy and war which was complex but so cleverly plotted and written. I feel this book provided consistency in quality and didn't dip like some trilogies do at this point.
There is a lighter romantic touch to ACOWAR but the depth of love is solid, desperate and tangible. Feyre has been on such a journey as a character and what a woman she has become, a woman I admire and love as a favourite character. Rhysand was wonderful and the cast of strong side characters rocked this book, namely Nesta, Cassian and others. Dare I say, I both loved and feared some of the monsters in ACOWAR and cried over others. The creatures are described so skillfully that this is fantasy that has a 3D feeling.
I'm sad on the one hand that this first trilogy instalment is over, but I'm excited about who will feature in the next three. I have hopes about who will be the main characters, however I trust Maas to deliver. I will re-read without doubt.
This was an audio listen and I was worried about the narrator change but Amanda Leigh Cobb seamlessly slipped into the role which is admirable on book three. Great narration from start to finish.

Extremely fun fae bodice ripper
Great voice acting makes for a nice accompaniment to the day. A well written, nicely paced story with lots of intrigues and threads going back and forth. if you enjoy this fantasy genre, then it's a safe bet for a entertaining read. Bodice ripping for sure, not for kids under 16!
