Filo: Your Special Gift is a book that encourages a young person to celebrate their uniqueness, to be brave and proud of who they are and what makes them different.

This book is the first of my adventures living on the boat and the mischief as I meet and make new friends. Now come along for the exciting journey. I learn the importance of making friends and being nice to everyone.

Mexi makes friends with some new dogs and introduces her best friend Canna to her new friends, along with Dylan. They learn to play together, no matter their size or age. Then they have a sad time when one of the older friends, Chip, starts feeling poorly and goes to the big farm in heaven. Mexi and her friends learn that when their friend dies, they think about all the wonderful times they have had and the beautiful memories they have of their friend to keep their friend alive in their minds and thoughts, and also, that they must talk to their parents if they feel sad.

In this adventure, Mexi has her first Christmas on the narrowboat, all her friends come to a big party, and everyone is invited. They play together, have fun, help each other, and learn to be good and listen to their parents. Father Christmas pays a surprise visit. Mexi has a wonderful Christmas morning and even manages to play with her friends, too.
