If you want to try a different sci-fi or you're tired of the same superheroes with the amazing weapons, then try a story about real aliens. How they live, love, and survive. They start as a naïve society that has everything, and when they ask a simple question, they are attacked and learn to defend themselves.

During a public relations trip to Europe the first lady Abby Patterson; her daughter, Beth; and son, Dave, lose their lives to a very fast and suspicious virus. As the virus takes over the world the president of the United States Arnold Patterson must deal with the collapse of the United States Government. His trusted adviser Admiral Nial Hagerly does his best to keep the military viable but it is a losing battle. The government moves to Camp David while they deal with the collapse then ultimately they are forced to move to an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic where they plan to rebuild the country and Earth.

Over 1,600 years after leaving an Earth made hostile by pollution, humanity developed faster-than-light travel and wanted to go home. The first ship enters Earth’s orbit and finds a pristine planet welcoming them, but they also find something else living there. Their first alien contact surprises them. Generations of humans were told of Earth’s beauty, and they found an intelligent race of artificial beings living on what they thought was their home.

Joan Herl the commander of the space station Oasis and her husband Colonel Tom Herl contact Admiral Hagerly, who is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. He, President Patterson, and the remainder of the government have taken refuge on the aircraft carrier Fittsburg in the middle of the Atlantic. The few remaining humans welcome the returning crew members from the moon colony Desert Beach.

After 15 years, the intelligent computer Julius returns. Earth’s survivors have learned to live with their celestial neighbors. Julius has worked to gain enough resources to end all threats to his existence: Joan and Tom Herl, SiMPOC, and the remaining humans.

Humans were forced to leave Earth when the pollution became a threat. Mankind could no longer live on the planet. They traveled 189 light years to their new home they named Horizon. When they left Earth they abandoned much and over the years they grew, developed, and matured. A long time in humanities' future they returned to Earth and found something else living there.

The entire human population is attacked by a very suspicious virus. SIMPOC's programmer doesn't come in to work, that day, the next, or ever. The commander of the space station Oasis, Joan Herl, is forced to abandon the station because of dwindling resources. When they land on earth, they are attacked by another thinking computer who would do anything to protect itself and to continue thinking.

This book combines two novellas - SIMPOC: The Thinking Computer and SIMPOC: Human Remnants. This is a parallel story to the novels Virus: 72 Hours to Live and Virus: Earth's Last Battle, which is from the perspective of the government and astronauts.
