The Beatitudes are primarily an announcement by Jesus of a paradigm shift, a new kingdom or country or community - whatever metaphor we use is less important than the point that is being made: the old guard is over, the new kingdom has arrived. If you were poor and stigmatized and rejected by society in the former paradigm, you are uniquely blessed by God and all things are yours in the new paradigm. The Beatitudes offer us an icon of what it means to be a peacemaker, and the path of transformation towards that end.

This book was comprised from close to 40 years of involvement in the professional sports and media industry of one way or another and is written as a teaching guide...as we all need to go back to basics once in a while to try to understand why things are thought, said, and done by the other person. The lessons are about the relationships that go on in our everyday lives, and the intention is to present scenarios and for the listeners to put themselves in each of those different roles throughout the book to have a better understanding of what others go through on a daily basis.

This is a guidebook written from years of experiences, some good, and some bad, but always entertaining and eventful. I will advise the next generation of students, artists, athletes, or business personnel who are preparing to move away be it in another city, state, province, or country. Leaving your daily routine, surrounded by the places, and faces that you’ve grown so accustomed to is certainly not an easy transition, nor should it be, but hopefully this book will give you some idea of what it takes, and what you need to do to be better prepared.

We discuss the easier and more intermediate 13ers and 14ers in Colorado, as well as share some info, stories and joys of hiking!
