Summary

London, 2044. Britain is a republic. President Jan Polak has vanished overnight from Buckingham Palace, just weeks before an election. Has he been kidnapped? Or even killed? One man is determined to find out - as soon as he's had his breakfast. His name is Pond. Howie Pond - the president's official spokesperson and wannabe secret agent.

With just a love of James Bond films to guide him, Howie sets out on a mission to solve the missing-president mystery. But with his journalist girlfriend, Britt, soon onto the story, the race is on to see who gets to the truth first.

Absolutely Brilliant

Loved it. Listened to it twice over in quick succession and will probably listen again when book 4 is released.
The silly humour is intensified by Gildart's narration.
Loads of light hearted fun in this story.

A very British comedy

I loved this book, it was was hilarious in a very Norman Wisdom way. Great characters.

A rare comedy novel that is actually funny

Here is a haiku review of ‘We have Lost the President’:

Escapist nonsense,
Jackson nails the comic tone.
Long live Pelican

easy listen with a couple of laughs out loud moments

I ended up listening to all three books in quick succession and I really enjoyed them. The characters are just about likeable enough to have you rooting for them and the story itself was interesting enough.
