Summary
She’s never left her home in the mountain wilderness of the Canadian Rockies - until now. Little did she realize, this journey would change her life in every way.
The mountain wilderness of her family’s home in the Canadian Rockies is all Hannah Grant has ever known. Now at the age of 24, she’s on a journey to help her father to find the son he gave up for adoption three decades before. This is Hannah’s chance to discover the life she’s missed out on so far - and hopefully find a husband along the way. But she certainly doesn’t plan to fall for the first man she meets.
Years in the cavalry provided Nathaniel Peak with more than his share of violence and adventure. That life behind him, he wants nothing more than to settle down in the beautiful Montana mountains and raise his own stock - in peace. The last thing he expects is the savagely wounded child who shows up in his barn. Nor the woman he comes to rely on for the girl’s care.
Hannah can’t help but fall in love with the brave Indian child who so desperately needs her, but no matter what, she can’t let herself fall for the man whose past choices go against everything she believes in. As the situation grows worse, Hannah and Nathaniel are forced to make a heart-rending decision to save the girl’s life. Little do they imagine, the choice they make could spell disaster for them all.

What a wonderful finish!
Misty M Beller finishes the Heart of the Mountains series with a beautiful story! This one really touched my heart. Nathaniel and Hannah's story is incredibly captivating for a couple of reasons. They meet when Hannah helps her father find the children he gave up close to 30 years ago. Nathaniel is settling into his home when he finds Itu, an injured Indian child in his barn. Itu is severely injured and with the help of Hannah, Nathaniel begins to care for her. But danger is lurking, and when Itu disappears, Nathaniel and Hannah's lives change. Not only are they scared for their lives, but they realize deeper feelings for each other. But will they survive? And will Itu live to be a happy, healthy little girl? I can't say enough good things about this series. It not only has wonderful love stories set in a time period that I love, but the bones of the story are so good. While stand alones, they do flow together and we get bits and pieces of each over the years. In this one, the center of the story with Itu is one of compassion and love, as well as their faith in God. It's a beautiful ending to this series.
Leonor A Woodworth finishes out the series with her incredible narrations. I love her voice. She always hones in on the character and is able to find the perfect voice and inflections to give to her portrayal and it gives a unique personality to each one. Her voice is soothing and makes the listen extremely enjoyable.

I think this was the best book I've listened to of Misty's! And Leonor narrated it superbly!
