EXCELLENT.
This is a fantastic captivating, heart breaking, frightening and horrifying journey, all sprinkled with hope and love. 💗
The good old days were hard, and harder for women! In a world were men rule, women have to be more to. Survive. This historical story is simply FANTASTIC.

california after goldrush, begins with horrendous drunk males who rape and kill, a ten yr old hiding in barn runs into woods and begins new life with older woman in the mountains, brilliant story for fans of jaes' oregon series, yrs pass in the wilderness before Jessica now jess has to face real world, and a strange attraction to a bar singer. took a while to get used to narrator, but story is so good I soon didn't notice, buying book 2 now.

OMG
This book is outstanding. The characters, storyline are fantastic. The narrator is brilliant at doing all the voices and I was truly engrossed from start to finish. This is definitely in my top five of this year and if you don't get this book you are seriously missing out.
