Interesting

The subject matter and narration were excellent. I was less interested in the Dayak elements and would have preferred further information relating to the U.K.

This one of those books that is more suited to reading as pictures to supplement the descriptions would enhance learning.

Overall it is very interesting.

Clear and Engaging

I've bought several of this author's books now, and while I've enjoyed them all, this is easily my favourite. It's absolutely packed with facts, connections, and techniques. I've read some similar books by other authors which are pleasant to read, but amount to being a book of anecdotes with tips sprinkled in occasionally. This book is the opposite, and I'm so grateful for that. It flows nicely together to make for an entertaining read, but there are no fluffy voids of information, it's constantly engaging and teaching.

It's a good mixture of levels of complexity. I'm sure most readers will find some familiar signs and connections that they didn't even realise they knew, but also find new ways of looking at the landscape which they would never have thought of. This is a book I'll be coming back to again and again for years, I know it.

Interesting titbits

Highly interesting and well narrated. Probably about 50% of it actually relevant to UK walkers but still highly informative.
