Interesting
story and characters. However, the narrator really needs to work on their accents, particularly their Welsh pronunciation. Maybe this will improve as the series moves forward.

Any Welsh speaker could not listen to this.
I have no complaints about the story in the book but the pronunciation of the Welsh words is absolutely awful. It is so bad that I can't understand half of them. I should add I am a Welsh speaker. I couldn't finish listening to the book because of the narration. Why on earth didn't the author get a Welsh speaker to do it.

Twisting tale
I really enjoyed the twists and turns in the story. I am Welsh speaking and living in the area the book was situated I was put off by the very bad Welsh pronunciations of the places, it jarred with me and took away from the enjoyment somewhat. Having a narrator who could pronounce the words better would have added to my enjoyment, although she did a good job of using a variety of voices in her narrative.

Snowdonia murders
Was recommended this book and it had me gripped from the start. I liked the evocative descriptions of N Wales and as a Welsh person particularly enjoyed the research that had gone into the history of the area, folk tales etc. the narrator was good but I found that her portrayal of the Welsh accent grated on me. She tried hard to pronounce the Welsh names etc but it left me cringing on occasion. There are lots of Welsh speaking actors out there who could have narrated this better. I want to read the next in the series but I’m slightly reticent if it is the same narrator. I did like the fact tho that it was a female narrator and thus echoing the main female character

If you are going to do a Welsh-set book then get someone who can pronounce Welsh names
Within a very short time I wanted to switch this off. There’s nothing wrong with the story, but surely someone could have listened to the book and amended the pronunciation of everything Welsh. It’s insulting.

Great story…but…
The story was really gripping but spoilt by the narration. There are many Welsh place names and other Welsh words and phrases in the book, and the pronunciation of these is dreadful. To begin with it was funny, but as the novel progressed it became irritating and finally extremely annoying. Please get a narrator who can pronounce Welsh, and get the right intonation to the many Welsh words and phrases. It spoilt what is a really good book.

I feel a series binge coming!
loved the complex characters, and am intrigued about their stories around the mail plot. the narrator is brilliant - so many different voices. I've downloaded two more already.

Refreshing premise, but terrible choice of narrator
As a massive crime fiction fan from North Wales, I have been waiting for a North Wales-based crime novel for a long time. Reading the description, I was excited to try this book.
But why on earth has a narrator who clearly doesn’t speak Welsh been chosen? Obviously the book isn’t in wealth, but someone with a least, a basic understanding of Welsh pronunciation. she sounds like a good narrator in general, but this is unacceptable and quite frankly disrespectful towards the Welsh language. Also, why are racist terms being beeped out? if they are written in the book, they need to be said.

A Welsh thriller
I enjoyed the story and it held my attention. However, being set in a Welsh setting I found the Welsh pronouncing of place names rather off putting. But still a good listen.
