Excellent book, ignore the envious AA cultists
This is a really helpful book with loads of very high quality info. This will actually help you move past your addiction issue, which is probably why the AA acolytes dislike it so much. There should be more books like this, except of course harmful 12 step nonsense makes way more cash than actual answers so these real solutions are vanishingly rare. Very good stuff, 5 stars

A bit long winded
A brilliant alternative to AA groups especially if you’re not religious.
I liked the examples of self talk but I did think it was a bit repetitive at times.
I think the idea behind Rational recovery could have been communicated with half the size of this book.
But if you’ve not read anything like this before, especially if you don’t have any neurological knowledge, you’ll certainly benefit from this book.

Sadly ALOT of AA bashing!!!
I really like the RR AVRT approach but this took so long to get to it. I'm not a big AA fan myself but I am a Christian and it was such a shame that the guy couldn't just get to the technique without constantly mocking and criticising AA. Not pleasant to listen to and so unnecessary 😕

nothing but AA bashing
he didn't go into any detail on how to use ARVT and overcome addiction. so angry that I spent 9 hours listening to nothing but AA bashing and 'Self Help'. don't waste your time or money.
