This book will make you think, and think hard...
I was directed to this book from the Youtube channel "We're in Hell" (more enjoyable and informative than the name implies) with a video about Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID). Context colours how I listen to this book, beyond the remit of a review; also as a physician involved in advance care planning discussions with patients. The Canadian experience exposes global challenges in people achieving both goals of accessing good quality end-of-life care and having a dignified death, which regrettably don't always co-occur. Regard this book as an introductory text to this problem and a prompt for readers to reflect (often agonise) on what they would want in the face of a terminal illness.

Touching, sincere and thought provoking
I was keyed unto this book by we're in hell, and I was blown away by how touching, rather than ghoulish. it brings in humour and humanity to this horrible but necessary service.

Thoughtful look into Euthanasia
I was gripped to this book from start to finish, it's a very insightful look into the experience of MAID in Canada. Jean Marmoreo's empathy for her patients is strong and apparent throughout and I felt very touched by the stories I heard.
The narration is excellent, Jean narrates part of it while Eve Crawford takes on the majority. Both are great storytellers.
