About this listen

It was the perfect romantic honeymoon. Until her husband disappeared.

It was supposed to be the happiest time of their lives. But for newlywed Stella, the dream honeymoon has turned into a nightmare overnight. Her perfect husband, Austin, has vanished without a trace.

Alone in Venice, Stella frantically searches for him. But as fear turns into confusion, she finds herself questioning everything she knows about the man she married. Has Austin really abandoned her, or has someone from his past finally caught up with him—the business partner he threatened to sue? The obsessive ex-girlfriend who refuses to let go? When Stella becomes convinced someone is following her, panic sets in.

As hours turn into days and clues start to unravel dark secrets, a terrified Stella can’t help but ask herself: is her husband who she thought he was at all?

Fabulous!

Absolutely brilliant, was totally sucked in from start to finish and narration from Claire Corbett is brilliant as always. I love Shalini’s books and this one is an instant favourite. Didn’t see that twist coming!

Fabulous, what a twist at the end.

Another amazing listen from this incredible author. This had me hooked throughout and I did not expect the twist at the end. Fabulous!

Was OK!

Love this author, but in my humble opinion, this wasn't one of her best.
I found it hard to get into and very long winded. Without any spoilers, I think the end was disappointing.
I see I am in the minority with this opinion!
Still worth a credit!

Predictable but a Good Listen

Even though it followed a fairly predictable plot line, I did enjoy it. A very easy story to get involved in.

Great story - easy to listen to

I like this author as not overly complex but enough twists and turns to keep her stories enjoyable and gripping. Airport security must have been lax but other than that little hole - great tale. Well narrated. Good ending.

didn't see the end coming!

I loved this book. I read so many books in this genre I almost always see the end coming. This book I didn't and the unfolding events kept me listening for the next twist.

it was good but.....

An easy fairy enjoyable read but story was a little thin and the ending made little sense and contradicted what had come before. A bit of a cheat on the reader.

Wow!

Can honestly say ~ I never saw any of that coming! Good story, frustrating in places when you wanted to shout out loud “don’t trust him”. Really must read right to the very end, then gasp!

intriguing story

I enjoyed this book all the way through until I reached the end. I was really disappointed with the ending so that spoiled the whole book for me.
However, the characterisations are well developed. Also dialogue. I am not sure how many birds you hear singing at dawn in Venice. Much more likely to hear church bells.

The storyline is not quite credible, in that it's not quite clear why the lead character is with this man.

There isn't enough about the lead character's own career as a dancer.

But it's the ending that spoiled it for me. I am unlikely to read another book by this author, unless maybe read the end first!
