About this listen

Three people. One marriage. One murder.

YOU: My handsome husband Tom. You've given me everything our beautiful son and our perfect new seaside home. I want to trust you, but I know you haven't been honest about why you really wanted to move here. I haven't been honest with you either.
ME: I make a secret promise as Tom kisses me and pours a glass of ice-cold wine to toast the first night in our dream house: I'm going to forget about his past. For the sake of our son, I'll keep this family together, no matter what.
HER: Chloe is the only friend I've made since the move. I love our long lunches, even though she asks prying questions about my marriage. Tom hates me spending time with her, but I ignore his warning to stay away. I've seen the way he looks at her. It's better to keep your enemies close.

You may think you know what's going on in my marriage, but you'll be wrong. Only three things are true: Someone is a liar. Someone is in danger. Someone is a killer.

Fans of The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage and The Girl on the Train will love this absolutely jaw-dropping psychological thriller.

Loved the narrator, the story was good

I really enjoyed this story, I think I predicted the ending but it was good all the same. The narrator is good

Why are these women so stupid?

I couldn’t get over how incredibly thick the main character was, not likeable at all. I listened all the way to the end to see if there was going to be some plot twist but no, predictable from the start. Narrator was good.

Good narrator

Kept me listening but it was a bit predictable. Guessed the plot fairly early. Still enjoyed it though. Bit basic.

Ok plot good ending

Easy listening chick thriller with obligatory annoying wife and dodgy husband. A respectable member of the genre.

What a tangled web we weave!

The trouble with liars is that they need good memories. So when Tom lies about the money he has spent on their dream home, Rachel becomes suspicious of his actions. By building a swimming pool in their walled garden, knowing just how much this would trigger a sad time in his wife's life, the reader realises that the handsome husband Rachel has landed isn't all he seems to be.
This story is spellbinding and will keep you on your toes until the last page.
Proving once again, be careful what you wish for!

This fantastic narrator brings this tale to life.

Another great book

Love Tamsin Kennard I search for titles only read by her and this was another brilliant one

Great twists I did guess half way through the twist but still great, left on a bit of a cliff hanger though would have liked to hear the confrontation! Thanks for a great read

Excellent narrator

I would have enjoyed this more if the wife was less of a blithering idiot. Set of keys goes missing, strangers breaking into your house and it still didn't occur to the woman to get the locks changed until the end of the book. Narrator was very good though. I wouldn't have been able to keep the annoyance out of my voice at her continuing stupidity.
