Summary

Brought to you by Puffin.

The latest series from international bestselling author, Rick Riordan

He was once an immortal God. Now, he's a teenage boy called Lester.

Apollo has angered his father Zeus for the last time.

So, how do you punish an immortal?

By making him human. Obviously.

Cast down from Olympus, he's weak, disorientated and stuck in New York City as a teenage boy.

It's the first time he's been without his powers, and he has to survive in the modern world.

Which isn't an easy feat for a four-thousand-year old deity, especially one with as many enemies as he has.

Apollo needs help, and he can only think of one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

Three books in and just loving this series

Moved to this after finishing the Percy Jackson books and the Heroes of Olympus (ideally read these FIRST before reading/listening to this series). As well-paced and structured as the others with some old and new characters - as delightful as always. What's different is the first person point of view which provides a welcome change of style that is appropriate for the story angle. It also allows for some great one liners in Apollo's internal dialogue. My favourite was "I hope I don't catch Caligulitis". I'm pleased they've stuck with the same narrator all the way through - the chop and change in one previous series was really disruptive (especially as the first narrator had totally nailed Leo's accent). Mr Daymond does an excellent job here and is just right for this series.

Amazing as always

I've gone through each one of the books in the whole Percy Jackson series and this one is just as awesome as the rest. It sits nicely within the world that has been mastercrafted for us while standing alone as it's own story. Performance fits the whole book nicely as well and I just couldn't bring myself to ever turn it off. Can't wait to get to the next one 10/10

An engaging story

The story is from Apollo's point of view. This makes it utterly hilarious and very emotional at times. great narrator plus story

Riordan does it again, Wow!

Rick Riordan's 'The Hidden Oracle: The Trials of Apollo' is an absolute gem that effortlessly blends seriousness with delightful humor. Riordan's knack for weaving intricate narratives within the realm of Greek mythology is unparalleled, and this book is no exception. What I particularly admire is the balance struck between the gravity of the plot and the playful nods to the reader, cleverly breaking the fourth wall without overshadowing the narrative.

Robbie Daymond's performance in the audiobook is top-notch, with his expert portrayal capturing the essence of Apollo. Through Daymond's voice, Apollo's larger-than-life persona is vividly brought to life while simultaneously showcasing his relatable vulnerabilities. The character development throughout the story is nothing short of remarkable, making it a truly immersive experience for listeners.

I've revisited this book multiple times and each time, I find myself drawn deeper into the rich tapestry of Riordan's world. It's a testament to the author's skill that I've eagerly recommended this book to friends, many of whom have become just as hooked as I am.

For fans craving more of the Percy Jackson universe intertwined with Greek mythology and a generous dose of humor, 'The Hidden Oracle' is an absolute must-read. It's a journey that promises excitement, laughter, and a newfound appreciation for the complexities of the divine world.

Just wonderful.

The narrator was very slow but the story was godly! The narrator has a good voice that suits the description. Uncle Rick strikes again! If you want it faster just turn up the playback speed

Apollo

lived this story, bought for my young son but also enjoyed by myself. Witty, sharp and contemporary whilst providing historical context to the story.
