Finding an escape route.
Took me down an emotional road with Chole. I admired her strength. I wasn't aware how deep this book would take me and explored my emotions. it was interesting to listen to each of the characters but despised that of Tom's.

GETTING STRONGER AND STRONGER
I HAVE LISTENED TO ALL GEMMA BOOKS AND HAVE THROUGHLY ENJOYED ALL OF THEM, BUT I HAVE NOTICED IN PARTICULAR THIS BOOK THAT ITS MORE COMPLICATED WRITING SLIGHTLY MORE SUBSTANCE TO THE CHARACTERS . TOM AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY WERE JUST AWFUL WELL DONE IMOGEN ON HIS AND HIS MOTHERS VOICE I WANTED TO CHOKE THEM BOTH,BUT YOUR IRISH ACCENT NEEDS WORK SAVANNA SOUNDED AMERICAN ONLY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE WHOLE BOOK LISTENED TO IN 1 SITTING THANKS GEMMA ROGERS GET BUSY WITH THE LAPTOP

So compelling
Wonderful narration, and such a great story, with many twists and turns. Some fascinating characters. Sadly, too many Tom types out there. Highly recommended.

Suspense
Gemma is a new author to me,but will certainly be listening to more of her titles. Whilst this is a work of fiction some elements will certainly ring true to any woman stuck in a controlling relationship. Suspenseful is an understatement . Fantastic

Hard going
I found the narration infuriating. The book would’ve been read in half the time if the narrator spoke at a regular speed. I found the story farcical and the ending was disappointing and predictable. There were loose ends left, well, loose. It’s not awful but definitely not great.

the god awful commentary
The commentary made me want to chop my ears off. I got to chapter 2 and had to delete the title.
