About this listen
Let me ask you a question: If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?
Word around campus is...it was no accident.
That injury has cost me everything - my starting position, my junior year, and the draft. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety girl with freckles in the dining hall.
They call Milly Potter "The Baseball Whisperer", "The Diamond Wizard", and "The Epitome of All Knowledge". She believes in baseball. She breathes it. She’s the queen of an infamous dynasty, but no one actually knows who she really is, and she plans to keep it that way.
One mishap in the panini line, one miscommunication in the weight room, and many failed attempts at an apology equal up to one solid truth: Milly Potter never wants to speak to me again, no matter how good my forearms look.
Little do we both know, she’s about to become more than just my fairy ball mother.

Delicious Sports Romance
I read the book when it was first released and thoroughly enjoyed it but listening to audio was a totally different experience. Listening to the audio I have fallen even more in love with Carson and Milly's story.
Carson is down on his luck and no one is safe from his wrath. A chance encounter with Milly has her in the firing line of Carson's anger. One thing leads to another and it is evident that Milly could be just the person to turn things around for Carson. But has Carson already burnt a bridge that can't be mended.
The emotions that Samantha and Sebastian were able to evoke were shattering. Loved this audio book and I'd highly recommend it.

Sport rom-com
Cute rom-com sports romance. I was so into the first half of this story and hero breaking down heroines walls and wiggling his way into her life....the second half I was kind of disappointed with where the story went and felt it somewhat unnecessary to their love story. However, the narration in audio as always sebyo and Samantha Peachwood was fantastic.

😭❤️ ⚾️
I have a brand spanking new favorite sports romance.
As my first Meghan Quinn book I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was an amazing intro to her and I’m not going back!
It’s cute, swoony, hilarious and then bam so much emotion. I actually cried during this listen, but I’m so glad she was able to put my broken heart back together.
Such an amazing book. Will recommend always! ❤️

Carson and Milly!
Carson is a star college baseball player who was destined to be drafted into the MLB until an injury by a teammate leaves him on the sideline. As he watches his friends get drafted he fears his dreams are in jeopardy as he may have healed physically but his game has become more of a strike out than a home run.
Milly was raised in a family where baseball was everything. She knows more about the game than most players and is determined to find success as a trainer on her merits and not because of her heritage.
She sees Carson is struggling and believes she can help him but all he sees is a quiet, nerdy woman who is in no position to give him advice. He soon realizes that there is much more to her than first appears and the transformation that comes over her when she talks about baseball is startling. He realizes that she is the best thing to ever happen to his game, but will he realize that she is the best thing that could happen to him as well?
This is a friends to lover story filled with hot chemistry, witty banter and just enough angst to have you invested in Carson and Milly’s happy ever after. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and the narrators bring out all the humor, heat and heart of this story in spades.

Amazing
This book is sweet, sexy and a whole lot of sad.
To say that Samantha and Sebastian absolutely nailed the audio doesn’t seem enough. I was on the verge of tears listening to some of the latter parts. I had to take a few breaks to sort my head because.... well, it got to me. It was AMAZING.

The best of the best!
So I know I haven't really mentioned much about The Dugout but expect what you have come to love from Meghan Quinn. If you loved Knox and were just plain positive no one could ever beat him in the swooniest department (hahaha), Carson is amazing in all his broody (understandable) glory. I still don't know which one I adore more. It might come down to which one would win in a fist fight!! Anyway, expect Quinn to charm your pants right off!! Speaking of, I'm not even going to go into the sexy times because good Lord does this woman give me the wiggles!! These characters are beyond characters. I'm smitten with them all and I am THRILLED to see we're going to get a little treat at the end of the month with a quick novella on Holt in The Strikeout. I'm dying for his mysterious story!!
Samantha Peachwood and Sebastian York were just EVERYTHING! I mean, it might be easier to list the things I didn't love than to tell you all about the amazingness of their voices. Really, there wasn't a thing for me to even consider complaining about in this audiobook. It's everything I absolutely LOVE about Quinns books and everything I love from these narrators! I'm jealous of all you people out there that get to listen to this audiobook for the first time.

Hilarious!
I've listened/read all four Brentwood boys books (The Locker Room, The Dugout, The Lineup, and The Trade) and I've enjoyed them all. They're all hilarious, heartwarming, and unputdownable. This though, by far, is my favorite, and it being narrated by one of my favorite narrators, Sebastian York, probably has something to do with it!
Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood did a wonderful job narrating this book. I haven't read the ebook version, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have found it as steamy had I read this book instead of listened; I probably wouldn't have laughed my head off during the part with the cookie either!
This book comes after The Locker Room but part of it shares the same timeline. I want to "go back" and reread The Trade since we see Cory a lot in this book. It's his sister's story, after all.
The Dugout is a slow burn, friends-to-lovers contemporary sports romance written in dual first-person POV and recorded in dual narration. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

I’m so in love with this couple!
This was such a laugh out loud story to listen too. But it also has some emotional moments too. It was a second chance, for quirky nerd girl Milly, and the sweet sporty guy Carson. I'm fairly new to audiobooks and I thought these narrators did a great job. I would listen to The Dugout again.
