I have listened to all three book they are all gripping, the inter-linking of story lines across the narrative keeps you on your toes. 90 hours very well spent!!!

i got the two books and was loving the narrator ,then the third book is good but WHY O WHY change the narrator, it ruined it for me

WHY CHANGE NARRATOR HALF WAY THROUGH THE SERIES ?

This series of books are excellent examples of fantasy novels , well written with fantastic storylines and superb descriptions of battles and arcane rituals .
The first two adaptations are amazing and you really find yourself immersed in the world and identifying with the characters.
I know that manufacturing audiobooks is a business and there may be many reasons unknown to us listeners as the why the publishers should decide to change narrators half way through but I have to say whatever the reasons, they were the wrong ones.
Why they didn't give Neil Dickson a chance to listen to the first two books and base his reading as well as he could on the voices and pronunciation on them , goodness only knows but we have The red knight going from a well spoken if a little gruff character to a hysterical pirate , cockney sounding knights becoming Scots etc etc , it doesn't spoil the story but it feels like a betrayal and spoils your enjoyment of it.
That said it's once more an excellent installment of the series and I will continue with it .
Recommended for all Game of thrones fans.

You will get used to the narrator...eventually...

So I'm sorry to bang on about the same thing everyone else has.... but why did they change the narrator?!?!

In brief, story is excellent, probably my favourite of the lot, you won't be disappointed. And to be fair, the narrator is fine, if he'd narrated all three I don't think you'd actually have an issue. The problem is the voices change, and certainly for a while I struggled to pick out who was saying what, and because I'd already got used to a set of voices from the previous two books, they just don't sound right.

Audible you need to sort out the front cover which says "read by Mathew Wolf", that's not on.

Otherwise, it's a good listen.

Great story, weird narration.

This book continues a fantastic journey through the world of the Rex Knight and his compatriots. Sadly the narration is aittle off putting, with pauses in sentences which just don't belong. It's as though the narrator hadn't prepared and was just reading the book out loud on his first sight of it.

The story was great! Narration, terrible.

Very very very hard to listen to with the change of narration. I’m going to leave the series at this point because I really can’t do another book with the captains voice as it is since the change. If it was even a normal Home Counties accent I could have overlooked it. But some knock of northern jumble. Really did not match the red knights history and status in the fantasy medieval setting. So much was lost in the narration from the first two books.

Stop changing narrators!

It's so annoying when the narrator changes - all the accents change and it disrupts the story massively. Scotsmen become northern, young men become middle age men, Welshmen become Scotsmen etc.

Also false advertising as the cover clearly says it's narrated by the previous two book's narrator.

Love the Book..not the Narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dread Wyrm to be better than the print version?

Having both Audio & Kindle versions I would say they both have their advantages.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dread Wyrm?

For me, it was the death of de Vrailley. After having his preconceptions of his own holiness shattered by the revalation he was being aided by the wild, he sought a death that would give him back his self recespect. The rescue of the Queen at the tournament and of course the climactic battle that allied men & the wild on both sides.

Did Neil Dickson do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

Sadly, I was disapointed with Neil Dickson's narration. He seemed to pay no attention to the characterisations created by Matthew Wolf. Tapio Hatija seemed to stutter and the Galles had lost their Gallic accents and Bad Tom seems to have become Welsh! Interestingly, the cover does state that Wolf is the narrator, wich makes me wonder why Dickson is reading it now.

another great epic of a story as this one had much action and was mostly focused on the main character.

great story. shame about the narrator.

love the story and how it is setup for the next book. the narrator is the weak link. changed from previous novels and not as good with changes to characters voices from time to time. too inconsistent.
