Summary
Warring kingdoms. Ancient blades. Dragonriders and godlings. A growing evil that threatens to destroy the world. Don’t miss the highly anticipated follow-up series to the number one Amazon best-selling saga, The Fatemarked Epic.
Infused with magic, shadows and starlight, the powerful godblades were believed to be lost nearly half a millennia ago, when the Godswar ended. Now, however, one has been found by the unlikeliest of wielders: Sampson Gaard, a blind but ambitious prince with something to prove.
The only question is whether he controls the blade or the blade him. With an insidious evil lurking in the shadows, the answer may very well determine the fate of all Kingfall.
The Kingfall Histories takes place on a different continent in the same world as The Fatemarked Epic. Fans of The Fatemarked Epic, The Stormlight Archives and Legends of the First Empire will fall in love with the world of Kingfall.

Good
The story moved at a good pace, good detail and characters.
I would highly recommend it.
The icing on the cake is the narration

strong characters
I enjoyed listening to this book, although at nearly 30 hrs it did get heavy going at times. The story was certainly good and the character's I found to be somewhat flawed in a way that made them human and prone to making mistakes. Will be listening to the next instalment soon

Aisling
Please check how to pronounce proper names! the story is great, the performance is brilliant but Eizling (according to the narrator) stands out like a thorn.

So exciting.
Lots of different stories to tie in so you have to pay attention. It is well worth it. Lots of little aha moments as a piece of the story has a key detail added or we get to see what past events motivate a character. Looking forward to the next in the series which is already downloaded and ready to play.

The gentle humour added an extra element
I really enjoyed visiting the world created in Kingsfall. Each character together with their family, friends and associates brought alive the challenges they faced and battled on a daily basis. There was a touch of Game of Thrones but not so much for it to appear to be identical (although I did enjoy that series as well). The gentle humour of different characters softened the sometimes harsh world they all inhabit. I would highly recommend and look forward to listening to the next in the series.

Far more enjoyable than Fatemarked
The first book in the fatemarked epic was so incredibly dire and constantly depressing that I gave up on the series before I even finished book 1.
Kingfall starts off incredibly depressing, as in just so,so goddamn dire it's an absolute pain to listen to, however there is a sun in the horizon and the book does pick up and get better rather fast. That's a massive step up from Fatemarked, which basically didn't pick itself up until the very end, but didn't do enough for me to want to actually listen to book 2.
Characters are well written and believable. I like vast majority of them and sympathize with the rest so basically nothing less than what I'd expect from David Estes as a writer.
This book is so good that it makes me want to give Fatemarked epic another chance,
