About this listen
The phone rings. It's your daughter. She's been dead for four months. So begins East Texas police dispatcher Ian Hunt's fight to get his daughter back. The call is cut off by the man who snatched her from her bedroom seven years ago, and a basic description of the kidnapper is all Ian has to go on.

Loved this.
Excellent story, well performed. Couldn't predict how this would end but I was gripped. The central characters were complex enough to be engaging and the story telling with vivid. I loved every minute of this.

Brilliant narrator
Great listen thoroughly enjoyed this book, very descriptive. Even though it was tense at times some funny moments. This book had everything, very emotive...Loved it and the narrator. Highly recommend

The narrators voice
One narrator his voice sounded really funny as he changed characters. It was hard not to laugh or turn off but I wanted to get to the end so persevered

It was okay
It’s a good, captivating story. The narration is not the best (to say the least) and I had to talk myself into not quitting several times purely because of the narrator monotone sentences.

Totally different
From my usual genre. But I heard the narrator + recognised him from Jack Reacher books. I love his voice, the style in which he reads. I'm not sure he sold me the book. But I liked the characters, they were visible +believable. I also liked the end on a high note without it dragging into obvious consequences to follow. Strangely I didn't feel there were loose ends which normally drive me bonkers. I'd recommend it as an book that holds up its end well!

Brilliantly read
The storyline and dry tone of narrator kept me gripped from beginning to end. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Bear with the narrator, it’s worth it
1.2x speed will get you through the odd narration but it is a really good story and I recommend it

Good story but terrible narration
The story was good - kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next and I listened all the way to the end. However, the narration was terrible - the female voices all sounded weak, needy & whiney - even the ones that weren’t meant to!! Worth a listen on audible plus but I’m glad I didn’t buy the title.

The story was great and I looked forward to listening to it when I could. It would make a really good film
