Summary

The stunning conclusion to THE BLOOD GIFT duology

WAR HAS ERRUPTED.
ALLIANCES ARE FRACTURING.

Ikenna is now a fugitive with a colossal bounty on her head. Yet, somehow that’s the least for her worries. Her grandfather’s long time allies refuse to help, and the Blood Emperor’s Warlord is tracking her. She’s also struggling to control the enormous power she was granted by the Goddess of Blood Rites … and come to terms with the promises she made to get such power.

Amidst all of this, the Blood Emperor leaves decimated cities, war crimes, and untold death in his wake. As the horrors increase, Ikenna and her team realize they must assassinate the Blood Emperor and quickly end the war. His killing may have planet-shattering consequences. But to do nothing means annihilation.

LOYALTIES. REVENGE, POWER. WITH THE WORLD AFLAME, ONLY ONE THING IS CERTAIN: BLOOD WILL BE SPILLED.

Just amazing!

A great duology, I in particular how it incorporated tying up loose ends and answering questions into plot twists, but in a way that made perfect sense and resolved aspects of the story in a clearly planned and logical way.

disappointing

I was disappointed with this follow-up. I did feel the story was engaging and detailed - the latter of which was overdone at some points - but nowhere near the standard set by the first. Most disappointing (for me) was the character relationships which seemed to change at the drop of a hat and lacked any natural development, particularly the romance between the main characters (which made it hard to route for them or care if one of them died). I was so drawn in book one, but this book felt forced and poorly written, with the dialogue being extremely cringeworthy and unrealistic I almost put it down! In general, the dialogue felt juvenile and overdone which made the book very YA. On a positive note, the story was mostly unpredictable, and the imagined world was fascinating. I give this a 3.

Excellent book

I was soo excited to see that this was available. Absolutely enjoyed listening to this. Love the dynamics of the team and especially ikenna and reed. The intimacy between them is so intense that it breaks up the brutality of this book. Love love love

Great but

I've just finished it, thank you for an amazing and interesting adventure.
I wish we had an other book coming after that because the end chapters felt a bit rushed for some part of the plot ( anything pantheon related).
I want more of the squad and moving around seeing the different lands, regarding that the map was good addition.
The personne performing was really good, I had a great expérience. I'm going to buy the physical copy too.

please more Ikenna and the squad.
