"Fourth Wing will have your heart pounding from beginning to end ... A fantasy like you've never read before."—Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times bestselling author

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Yarros.

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away … because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Amazing

I love dragons and so I'm pretty bias but it was incredible and I came home from work and lived in the world every night and finished it in a week. I just loved it. The characters and twists and not all happy fairy tale.
BUT
I pray to god that you don't use that man's voice for the next book. That last chapter was DREADFUL. Why on earth change it heavens know. But he just didn't pronunciate clearly and the expression wasn't in the right places, and it just ruined it :( ruined the chemistry. Wasn't enough voice change between actors.
Most books on here are really stromgly american and quite annoying. It ruins a book and stops me getting past the taster but this lady id give a 9 out of 10. You could follow and become engrossed in what was happening.

Good but not wowed

I think the book is really good but overhyped. It’s a predictable story, with characters that could have done with more character development. The story was also quite slow in the middle with sections that were not really needed.

Brilliant!

This is the first book that I read and loved so much that I then bought the audiobook. Usually, it’s the other way round. I was nervous about the performance from the sample, but don’t be. Rebecca (both of them) have done brilliantly.

This is a must read/listen.

Enjoyed it, but it's really a romance

Narration was good and the story telling is gripping.
I'd say this is definitely an adult book and it has much more of a feeling of a romance. Could have taken more getting on with the story and less teenage angst from the book. Nonetheless it was still an interesting listen.

What a ride!

Ok, so it’s been over 20 odd years that’s I’ve read any kind of Fantasy Book. I really wanted to give this a go, but after 3 attempts with the actual hardback, I knew audio was the way for me to go.

Story wise and how it’s been written, absolutely amazing! I’ve loved all the books I’ve read so far of Rebecca’s, so she draws you in from the very start. I was hooked and couldn’t stop listening. She has created something pretty special with this world.

My only issue was yes, the narrator was hit and miss for me. At times she sounded like she had a major cold or possible throat infection lol Her male voices weren’t much different to female voices, so I did have difficulty there, and the dragon voice was quite childish. However! When there were action packed scenes, this was where she thrived in her narration. It would have been nice to have had Teddy involved in a duet style with Rebecca the narrator, it felt like a waste with him just narrating the final chapter. I hope we have more of Xaden’s POV in the next book, Iron Flame.

Overall I’m so glad I have finally read this book that everyone is talking about, it was amazing!

Lives up to the hype

I went into this fairly skeptical, given the hype, and comparisons to ACOTAR, (which isn’t my cup of tea), but it’s a masterfully crafted piece of fiction filled with fascinating world building and some killer characters.

I'm in love

This was a breath of fresh air. It gave me Eragon meets ACOTAR and I loved every minute. The world was unique, the characters felt real and the romance was *chef's kiss*

Something is hot and it’s not the dragons breath. This book was FIRE from the very start. I can’t wait to know what happens next.
