Summary
While walking through a park at night in Bacup, England, Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend, Robert Maltby, were brutally attacked by five teenage boys. The beatings and subsequent murder made international news. This book was written by an investigative journalist who became extremely close to the families of the victims. It's a very in-depth account of a very sad case.

Informative and emotion provoking
loved it, very interesting, having long hair as a teen and I still drum in 2 rock/metal bands and where band shirts....so I can relate, my daughter is about the same age, I had a care for the author a love for Sophie and Rob and a rage where I was flinging my arms about at the perpetrators, very sad but a lasting legacy

Awful narration.
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator
What was most disappointing about Catherine Smyth and RJ Parker ’s story?
Nothing, the story is probably great. The narration is so awful, I couldn't stand it. I had to turn it off after 8 painful minutes. I will try reading the book instead, as I am interested in the subject matter
Would you be willing to try another one of Karen-Eileen Gordon’s performances?
Absolutely not, no!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Sophie Lancaster?
Unable to answer this question.
Any additional comments?
What were you thinking when you employed this narrator. It is the most wooden, weird way of speaking I have ever heard on an audiobook. I tried speeding it up on my phone to see if maybe it had been recorded at the wrong speed and I afraid that even that didn't help. I should have trusted my instincts when I listened to the clip but I thought I might be able to run with it becuase I was interested in the subject.
