Summary
A doubly disgraced dwarven hero. A band of accident-prone adventurers. Giving redemption a second shot may have been a grave mistake....
Still bruised and heartbroken from their last calamitous quest, Gorm Ingerson and his band of washed-up heroes try to make amends for the orcs they accidentally betrayed. But justice is put on hold when an old foe marches to the city gates. Gorm is horrified to discover a liche pitching the frightened city-dwellers on the merits of the undead lifestyle...at the head of a corpse army.
To save the city from high-pressure sales tactics and an inevitable siege, the dwarf warrior and his misfit band hatch a harebrained scheme that lands them at the top of the king’s kill list. With death and dark magic on his heels, Gorm must craft his own pitch to round up the troops and put the undead snake-oil salesman and his army of pushers permanently out of business.
Son of a Liche is the second book in The Dark Profit Saga, a trilogy of humorous epic fantasy novels. If you like rib-tickling shenanigans, second-rate heroes, and imaginative new takes on tired tropes, then you’ll love J. Zachary Pike’s hilarious blend of finance and high fantasy.

just really good
Well written, engaging, clever without disappearing up itself, funny without grasping for laughs, well-narrated... I just really enjoy this series!

20hrs of pure entertainment.
Orconomics was one of my favourite reads of last year and one of my favourite self-published books of all time. I finally got around to the sequel and wow! Son of a Liche is even better!
If you enjoy clever satire, this series is for you.

Like Terry Pratchet but better
I can't recommend any book more strongly, wickedly funny, very dark and surprisingly moving. You can tell the author loves fantasy and is very, very clever.

Absolute joy
Both books are amazing. Witty, fun and incredibly entertaining. If you ever enjoyed TTRPG this one is a must.

A brilliant story .. I need more
I’m following this author now coz finance science fiction is my genre of choice. I’ve never enjoyed listening to a glossary so much (and I had listened to the one in book 1 two days ago) it gives me hope for the books to come - I also like how there’s more story after the glossary- like a reward for the patient. I will be waiting for book 3 something to look forward to this year -right mr Pike?

great fun
A big D&D/fantasy inside joke. Funny exciting and heartfelt. Not since the name of the wind have I seen such immersive economy in the fantasy world.

great listen
5/5 this book shows great character progression and is an amazing continuation to the first book. the story still contains loads of jokes but is very insightful at the same time. I may take up some economics lessons Haha

Even better than the first.
A very funny and astute book. Well worth a read.
While I enjoyed the first book, it had a very 'first book feel' to it. This has the same humour, but just with a bit slicker editing.
Is a trilogy and the third book isn't out yet. Proceed with caution.
Ps. Mr Pike, please write faster.
