A great guide to Somatic Therapy!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Somatic Therapy for Beginners: Simple Exercises to Master the Mind-Body Connection, Relieve Stress and Anxiety, and Alleviate Chronic Pain and Trauma. As my introduction to Somatic Therapy, this audiobook exceeded all my expectations. It offers a comprehensive, step-by-step guide that makes incorporating somatic techniques into daily life simple and practical. I especially appreciated that the exercises didn’t feel like “another thing to do” in an already busy schedule. Instead, they seamlessly fit into everyday moments—whether I’m waiting in a grocery line, stopped at a traffic light, or sitting in an office cubicle. Even better, I don’t need any additional equipment to practice these techniques. Next week, while traveling, I plan to use some of these methods in a new environment, showing how adaptable and practical they are.

I’ve always felt fairly connected with my body, but this audiobook opened my eyes to new ways to strengthen that mind-body connection. The holistic approach to health, outlook, and overall wellness fits perfectly with my personality and other wellness practices. One technique I found particularly appealing and new is setting my intention for the day. I’ve already started adding this to my routine, along with many other suggestions from the audiobook. With so much helpful information packed in, I’m sure I’ll discover even more during my next listen. The author also addresses potential challenges and stumbling blocks, which has been really helpful as I get started.

Somatic therapy is so interesting

I’ve done talk and some nervous system based therapies but I have been so interested in diving into somatic to help help me heal more from a huge relational trauma I went through. This helped me understand more about what it entails and how it can help me personally!!

Great Guide for those with stress and anxiety

This book provides a clear and thorough guide for completing the exercises that will help with stress and anxiety. I love the exercises focusing on mindfulness and the section to guide so you do the exercises correctly. It really clicked for me once I got to that section. I often did things wrong, hence not getting the results I wanted. This guide helped me in so many ways, and I am very excited to help relieve my stress and anxiety. As a social worker, I fully appreciate the book working on trauma also. It is very important for so many. Highly recommend.
