Great story!

Not having read Davidson King’s books before I was very interested to listening to Snow Falling after reading the blurb. Men on men genre is one of my kinks and this book had it all. For a start the model on the front grips you to suggest what Snow would look like and I have to admit my imagination would have come to the same conclusion. But then to fall in love with a notorious, gay, gang leader whose nephew Snow rescues from being kidnapped begins the love story to start all love stories.

I do find it amusing that Chris the gang leader seems to be a beacon for gay hardmen loyal to him. Also in other books in this series you’ll be Introduced to a company of gay hitmen, not that it was intentional I think on the recruitment form.

Davidson Kings writing is lighthearted in places where you will giggle, shed a tear and sigh with the love that passes between Snow and Chris.

So why not download a copy and listen to the great voices of Philip Alces and Joel Leslie and enjoy it as much as I did.

There's always a soft side.

Great character backstory, and all the characters have depth. The story is sad in parts, harsh, soft, fun. But, seriously, it has everything that I need for a great book. Having two people narrate is always a great experience as it's so much easier for your ears and mind to separate the characters.

A tough mafia with a soft heart, a street boy with a very soft heart, and a lonely young child. Plus lots of side characters. Well worth the read and would highly recommend.

New to me narrator Philip Alces was extremely easy to listen to, and Joel Leslie was perfect as the voice of snow. However, I sped up the audio to 1.25, which is usual for me.

Fantastic!

This is one of my absolute favourites - I relisten to this more often than any other book! It was a firm favourite when I read it, and the fact that one of the narrators was Joel Leslie made me buy it as I love his work. I hadn't heard of Philip Alces before, and this is the first and only audiobook I have with dual narrators. I wasn't sure at first and it took a bit of getting used to, but after about chapter 6 I was into it and wouldn't have this book any other way. Both narrators sounded like they worked really hard here - there were so many different voices and accents and all were faultless. Having said that, one voice, the nephew of one of the M/Cs, was performed very differently by both narrators and it was a bit wierd to hear it - this didn't detract from the general perfomance though. Philip Alces' chapters were a bit louder that Joel Leslie's - not a problem unless you're listening before going to sleep, then the change in volume was annoying.

The first four chapters are the best opening of any book ever - had me hooked so completely. I can't praise the writing enough - really great work by Davidson King! I haven't read or listened to any of the others in the series, mainly because I'm worried I'll be disappointed after reading/hearing this one - but I won't be able to abstain for too much longer I don't think!

Brilliant book, audio takes some getting use too.

I fell in love with Snow, yeah he is the stereotypical twins who everyone loves. But he has strength and a dark sides too. Christopher I liked but didn’t love, I got him but I think there needed to be more to him. Good book and wi read the rest of the series.

Well done!

Now I thought I had already review this first book but just looking back now after reading (listening) the the last one on here. I realised I had not done so, so here goes lol. I listen to books because reading is based and that's why I have not even need able to finish what I try to write, so when I found audio books I was so so happy ☺ now when I find this book i t was because of the narrator, Joel and I found his and Phillip together are even better...! This book has been listen to a few times now... Every time the ne,t one came I went back to this one first so each one gets its relisten. I love this world so much and all the way through this first look into there lives I was hooked! When a book gives you everything you like you get addicted! And yes I did... I would recommend this series to all (m\m love is not for everyone) but if any love making might make you think twice I would just say hang in there... You can always slightly fast forward lol... But I can say personally I love every word... Thank you so much t all keep on going Please😏

Sweet romance

This was a nice read, but the romance was all a little too sweet considering it involves a crime boss. Definitely an easy listen.

Some of the plot is a bit frustrating, like when they are in a hurry to save someone and have a nice little chat with someone before leaving ..and let’s be honest, the rest of the story could have been tied up pretty quick if they hadn’t sat around gabbing and got a wiggle on and fixed the issue before it escalated. There were a few parts like that so it was difficult to buy into the crime world this was supposed to be set in. Surprised they’ve all survived so long!

Light and easy

What got me curious about this book when I started was the sort of gentle mafia MC and the twink who immediately steals his heart. Just such a strange and unusual combination that I kept me reading. Joel Lesley is usually great to listen to, but Philip Alces was a new to me narrator and was gorgeous.

adorable little mobsters

This novel did not captivate me. It was not romantic and not thrilling. The two narrators were very different, which made recognizing the voices of secondary characters difficult. They have not done the effort to synchronize the voices with each other's repertoire.
The story was quite ridiculous and the second time listening I was very annoyed by that.

good narration but the sorry was weak

I thought the whole reason for snow to be hiding his name and his "talent" was pretty ridiculous and I rolled my eyes a few times when it was brought up. but other than that it was a good story with enjoyable characters
