About this listen
Ryan
Kind, caring, and protective. Those are the three qualities I’m looking for when it comes to my dream man. In a city as big as Chicago, you wouldn’t think he would be that hard to find, right?
Wrong. Sure, my boss found a super-sexy detective and my best friend fell madly in love with the most eligible bachelor around. But the only person I’ve met recently is a broody bad boy who saved me at a sketchy pub.
He’s grumpy, rude, and honestly, not that likeable at all. Hardly my “dream” guy.
So why can’t I stop thinking about him?
Jameson
I don’t do friendships. I don’t do relationships either. The very last thing I’m looking for in life is to fall in love and live happily ever after.
So saving some rich guy from losing his wallet is the last thing I want to do on a Friday night. Especially when he looks like someone who just stepped off the cover of GQ.
Fate seems to have other ideas, though, and every time I turn around, he’s there.
A wicked heat simmers between us, threatening to ignite, and though I’ve been trained to put out the flames, I can’t help but think: What’s the worst that could happen if I let this desire burn out of control?
Wicked Heat is book one of two in Ryan Carrigan and Jameson Clarke's story.

Sooo good and sexy!!!
I have an amazing time listening this audiobook! Charlie David did an amazing job narrating this book, I love his voice he sounds so sexy, yum!
Jameson Clarke is the new guy at the fire department (the same one that Kieran recently left) he is grumpy, rude and no interested in making friends, his background makes him hard to trust and he think he is not worthy. I absolutely love how this two meet and it was fate that they continued to meet again and again.
This is a grumpy/sunshine, opposites attracted, closer proximity romance. Jameson is in denial of his feelings and since meeting Ryan he starts to open a little bit. Ryan can’t stop thinking about Jameson even if he is definitely not Prince Charming. I love how they start with friendship and later they take the next step, it’s was inevitable their attraction was really strong. I like that this book didn’t end on a cliffhanger, it was a HFN and this two would need to trust each other for their relationship developed.
This two were smoking hot together and have a great chemistry! I highly recommended!

Loved it!
4.5 Stars!
Wicked Heat is book 1 in the Chicago Heat series and what a great introduction it is!
We met Ryan in the Primetime series as Alexander Thorne's PA extraordinaire, and now we get to know him a bit better. He's fairly down-to-earth, efficient, and sweet. Other than having had to help his parents and brother when his brother was sick growing up, he's had an idyllic life. Jameson's life hasn't been easy, from growing up on Chicago's south side, to his parents and sister being drug addicts and his sister running away, to his best friend dying in the line of duty, and on top of it all, being evicted from his apartment and having to find a new place to live in. There's a spark from the first time they meet, but Jameson is not the most trusting of guys, so it takes a twist of fate—Ryan renting a room in his apartment, and Jameson turning in to see it, and then Ryan nursing Jameson back to health after a nasty flu—for Jameson to start opening up to Ryan.
Ryan and Jameson are opposites in almost every way, but they fit well together. Their chemistry is off the charts and I loved them together.
There's some angst, and I thought for a second Ms. Frank was going to leave me hanging until book 2, but thankfully the book ends on a good, hopeful note and I loved that last part so much (especially that last sentence), even if I was tearing up just before it, so now it's just a matter of waiting for Wicked Flame. Overall, a riveting start for Ryan and Jameson's story, with some noteworthy cameos by Xander Thorne and Sean Bailey. Definitely recommendable!
Charlie David's narration was great as always. His voice is pleasant and he did an amazing job bringing Jameson and Ryan to life for me. Super recommendable!

GQ and the Grump
GQ and the Grump drew me in and I couldn't wait to turn each page.
Oh Ryan, I have been waiting for you to find your "one", and the Grump that is Jameson is so perfect for you. This book should be called GQ and the Grump like on Ella's teasers haha.
They just fit so well - opposites really do attract. Ryan was kind of like a puppy, wanting Jameson's time. I don't mean that in a demeaning way, just in a way that he knows what he wants and he is going after it,and fighting for it - hard.
Jameson, well I just don't have words enough for my feelings for him. I hurt, I loved, I wanted more.
Now, we know this is going to be a bit of a cliffy going in as it i book 1, but it wasn't too bad, it just wanted me leaving more, needing to know what happens next with our lovelies.
Was great seeing more of characters in their world that we have come to adore. and am looking forward to book 2
It was good to see Charlie David back in Ella Frank world, and he really brought these guys to life

Ohhh I'm really interested in Jameson's back story or more scenes with his younger sister sounds like a bit of dark trauma/drama there. It was basically serendipity with Jameson and Ryan constantly running into with each other. But Jameson doesn't "do" relationships, but I'm sure Ryan is going to change his mind. Look forward to the conclusion.
Narrator Charlie David did an excellent job with all of the characters.

Returned it
How is this book from a bestselling author? Their dialogues seemed like they were written by a teen girl with a thesaurus obsession, their personalities were stereotypical to the core, they had zero chemistry, and everything felt so forced.
So bad, so cringe, and boring that I returned it before chapter 5.
