About this listen
Just as Benji Silver begins to wonder if his casual relationship with Gold might turn into more, the two men are thrown into a position that has the lovers quickly turning into enemies.
With no way to escape each other, Silver and Gold begrudgingly agree to make the best of an impossible situation. Will Gold’s search for perfection drive them apart or can Silver show Gold that imperfection can be beautiful?
Silver & Gold is a steamy, slow burn M/M enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity romance between two slightly self-absorbed artists.
This is the second book in the Silver in the City series. Each book focuses on a different couple.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Benji and Rhys
Silver and Gold is the second book in the Silver in the City series, which I was looking forward to after book one.
This time Benji Silver gets his story. He is an artist who, due to unfortunate circumstances, has to share a property he has rented as a studio and for exhibition purposes. His co-owner Rhys is also an artist and his lover, with whom he actually had a casual relationship, which is then put on hold for the time being.
The two must first manage to somehow communicate professionally. But they realize that they are also missing the private part of their relationship.
Should they give it another try? Do they have a chance?
I found both characters very sympathetic. I was also pleased to see the protagonists from the previous volume again.
Silver and Gold is a romantic story with sweet moments that I enjoyed.
Michael Stone narrated the audio book and he did a good job, although I would have liked him to vary the voices a bit more at one point or another. But you could listen to him overall quite well and I'm looking forward to book 3.

Silver Mixes With Gold
Silver and Gold is the second book in the Silver in the City series. It is best read right after Silver and Sage, the first book in the series. This book follows Benji and Rhys’ love story, which was hinted at in the first book.
The main tropes of this book was Enemies-to-Lovers and forced-proximity, but it felt like a half-hearted attempt with those two tropes. The plot was still interesting, and I was pleased with Benji and Rhys’ relationship, but they didn’t really feel like enemies, so much as two lovers having a conflict and having to work it out. Benji and Rhys were casually hooking-up before a real-estate mix-up had them both renting the same building for their art businesses. They clash over their different artistic visions for what they wanted the business to look like, but were able to finally come to an acceptable compromise. Like the first book, the romance and story were sweet and there were some really cute moments.
Michael Stone narrated the audiobook. He has a smooth and steady voice that can be soothing to hear. There isn’t much variation for the character voices, but he does add inflections and different tones to help express the story. Overall, I found the audiobook nicely done and easy to listen to.

Hot as fire, good romance, good performance.
Silver & Gold is the second audiobook I've listened to by Michael Stone and he really delivered with this one. It was easy to tell the different characters by the voices he used and I would definitely listen to more books by him.
I originally read and reviewed this book when it was released back in February 2020. Below are is a copy of what I wrote then.
Hot as fire and a good romance.
I really enjoyed reading Benji and Rhys' story. Two artists, with different styles, forced to work together when they planned to work alone. Benji and Rhys were good together in bed but when they had to work together things didn't go so well. They each get great advice from their supportive friends and family and are smart enough to follow it.
This book is seriously steamy and the sexy time was plentiful (almost a little too much); these two guys know how to burn up the sheets and lots of other places, too.
The romance for Benji and Rhys is concluded but, fair warning, there is a pretty big cliffhanger at the end that sets up the next book in the series which is Kyson and Bay's story. I'm really looking forward to reading it and I won't have long to wait as it will be out in only ten days (Feb. 13, 2020).
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
