Summary

Spain, January 1812

Lieutenant Richard Sharpe faces threats from all sides when an old adversary joins the ranks. Yet, despite the risks, he must embark on a deadly mission – to capture the impenetrable fortress of Badajoz.

It’s a long, cold winter for war as the French force onwards – but Sharpe’s battle-rage burns. Only a Forlorn Hope, a near-suicidal move into the breach, will give the army hope of capturing the fortress. And boldly leading the attack is Sharpe . . .

Sharpe's Company

Another good book. Given it's short in line as it's spread over a few months the story is well thought and like the others packed with adventure and action.

Great Story

The characterisations of the narrator was excellent. Hakeswill should rightly be considered as one of the best novel villains of all time. The book is far superior to the TV series, which did not reflect the quality of the story. 10/10

Another ripping yarn

Usual daring do. Hero gets wrong end of stick. Baddy ascendant. Hero beats the odds and makes a further step forward. At the last, all is well with the world and baddy vanquished.
Still looking forward to hearing more of the formula. Enough twists to keep the interest going. I'm not likely to get bored in any foreseeable future.

A great read. Pacy and paints a vivid picture of a bygone age. Cornwell writes so well.
