Summary

Two strangers.
Two words.
One unforgettable summer....

When you’re an artist, everything has to be perfect.

Or so I thought, until my professor told me my perfection was boring and unoriginal. Studying abroad in Florence has taught me one thing: I know nothing when it comes to what makes art truly beautiful.

So, with my professor's words in my ear, I step outside one evening and decide to say yes to any and everything I’m faced with until the sun rises.

Of course, I didn’t expect him to show up.

Liam Benson, the broody, sexy, tortured artist from my class who I can’t stand. He’s got a sour outlook on the world and an ego so big no one could properly stroke it to his satisfaction.

When he finds out what I’m doing, he hijacks my “yes” night.
And after just twelve hours with him, I’m desperate for more.

But Liam is running from more than I could ever understand, and with his heart guarded and mind made up about life, I don’t stand a chance.

I convince myself that we can keep it casual.
But walking away from him at the end of the summer is as impossible as painting outside the lines.

I used to think when you’re an artist, everything has to be perfect.

Turns out everything has to be painful, and messy, and fleeting.

If only I’d known that before I fell under Liam Benson’s spell.

Wonderful story!

Italy. A romantic country full of art and love. Harley has gone to study her art in an intensive program not expecting to fall in love. Always the perfectionist, she finds herself challenged by her professor to feel more as she paints. Liam, her classmate, is a last minute, under pressure painter and his work is gaining the praise she seeks. Good looking, always a woman on his arm, she finds herself attracted and repelled by by him. Until the night she goes out and is determined to say yes to everything! He takes her on a journey of new, exciting paths and he doesn't see her disability. As they learn about each other, the push pull is accentuated. There is a lot to Liam, and he is broken. Will they each be able to overcome their obstacles to find the love they seek? This is an angsty, romantic journey, and I loved every minute of it. Kandi Steiner has taken two complete opposites, each with their own issues and made them real. It's emotional, heart wrenching and rewarding, the best kind of love story and one you will not want to miss.

Hannah Chiclana brings this story to life with an impactful performance. She creates the personalities of Harley and Liam with their traits evident in each of their voices. Easily distinguishable and an easy pace, the story flows and is one I will remember.

Such an amazing book

It has been a while since I read a book that really spoke to me and really impacted me. This audiobook did both.

This book really showed that it is okay not to be "perfect" or strive for perfection. This book was so real and it really spoke to me. Both Liam and Harley have their own "baggage" yet working together and also having an incredible "Yes night", they both took chances and faced their fears.
This book is filled with hope, angst, courage and love. I loved every minute of it. The scenery and descriptions were amazing, the characters were amazing and real. I loved the flow and the feelings I got while reading this book.

Kandi Steiner took some very sensitive topics and delivered them with such grace and empathy, I am in awe! There are extracts in this book that will stay with me forever. I will definitely reread this book.

The audiobook was perfect. This isn't the first book I have listened to narrated by Hannah, and it won't be the last. Hannah captured Harley perfectly, her emotions and the accents around her. She really brought this book to life.

You can really tell a lot of research and thought went into writing and delivering this book.

I highly recommend this book

A lovely story about finding your yes.

An emotional, slow burning angst filled story about loss, art, joy and despair set in the 1990's in Italy with the narrative beauty that Ms. Steiner is known for you say? Yes, I do say. And this was beautiful in every way. As an exploration of grief in many forms, finding yourself in a new country and inside yourself, not to mention the angst of a romance you know you shouldn't put your all into and yet...you do. If you enjoy the kind of romance that keeps you gripped, but still punches you in the gut, say yes to this and thank me later. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Say Yes

I was listening to the audiobook:

This story is heartmelting!!!

From the beginning on this book had me fully wrapped. The narrator did an amazing job, like the book is written just for her (and I love her snorts *lol*)

The story brings you to Florence, Italy in the 90's with artstudent Harley. There she meets in her artclass Liam.
Their lovestory begins turbulent with many ups and downs during their summersemester in Italy.

It's a great written lovestory I can totally recommend.
