Summary

His world was water and rhythm. Hard work and drive kept Royal O'Connell one step ahead of his competition. His spot on the swim team, keeping his scholarship, was the only plan that mattered.

His world was ebony and ivory. Natural talent and ambition set Camden Morgan apart from the other music majors. His dedication scored him a full ride.

Normally, their paths would have never crossed...but when Royal meets his best friend's new roommate, his big plan and Camden's controlled environment faces a variable that could destroy it all: attraction.

The world they live in had no room for error. That undeniable pull between them was dangerous, and neither one of them could've prepared for the choice they'd have to make.

Love isn't always an easy road, and when everything they've worked for is on the line, they'll have to decide if being together is worth the risk.

Contains mature themes.

Simple, delightful love story with a happy ending

Nicely framed descriptions of two distinct perspectives, well narrated, and well written. The challenges they face aren't insurmountable, but are relatable making it an enjoyable listen.

Nice love story

if I'd have to read this, it would really be kinda long winded.
But the narration was spot on. I loved Camdens story in voice actor. He really made him alive. And I always love when a MC is some kinda classical music lover.
I also relate to him about loneliness.

Wow, utterly captivating.

I couldn’t stop, and practically listened to this straight through - with some reading on my kindle too.
I adored this story and it’s poetically told.
Full of romance and swoon worthy moments I devoured this.
The narrators did a super job!

I adore this book

I love this book so much.

I was not prepared for this book when I stumbled upon it, but it has melted my heart. I love Royal and Camden's story of discovery and discrimination. Loved following as they learn about themselves and each other. This book tackles some difficult themes and caused me some heart break but ultimately the characters get their HEA. I have fallen in love with this couple and can't wait to listen to Indie & Kai's story next.

Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton do an amazing as the heroes in this story.

Great audio...

Fantastic audio interpretation of this story from the always fabulous Teddy Hamilton and new-to-me narrator Aaron Shedlock. There was some unnecessary drama in the story which didn't make much sense to me [Uncle] and of course the ubiquitous hate crime by an absolute pig of a jealous swimming jock, although that WAS entirely predictable. Lovely almost lyrical quality to some of the writing, and Royal and Camden made a great team. Not giving anymore of the story away...4 stars for the story and 5 stars for the audio. Yet another Teddy Hamilton winner for me 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

absolutely everything.

Wow. Royal and Camden's story was beautiful. The unlikely romance between the closeted pianist and the swimmer jock who has only ever messed around with a woman starts off behind closed doors.

Royal, with his twin sister Indie, and his supportive family, are unapologetically themselves. Letting his newfound best friend Kai in on his secret, he embarks on an epic journey of love in the halls of St. Peters College.

Camden, the forgotten child. He came out to his therapist mother at 16, and was quickly ushered back into the closet. Timid, painful shy and unwilling to put Royal's future in jeopardy he agrees to see where their romance can go, as long as it's in the shadows.

After Christmas break with Royal's family, they nothing have a newfound confidence in their step. Determined to be free from judgement Camden confronts his parents and Royal come sout to his team, with disastrous consequences. Can they make it through to the other side into a perfect symphony? Or will their love story be left unfinished, on a sheet of dusty music paper, left inside a closet never to be seen again?

Emotional

This book had me crying several times. Made me realise homophobic violence and the need to hide are real things in America. I forget that since homophobia is rare to see in Scotland. I enjoyed this book and the narrators were great.
