Summary
Lydia Palmer seems to have it all—a thriving business, a beautiful house, a picture-perfect husband, and two wonderful kids. But things are different behind closed doors—Lydia is desperately unhappy and wants a divorce. Then, shockingly, her husband, Adam, dies.
When her grief eases, Lydia starts online dating and almost immediately meets Patrick. Handsome, successful, and loving, he’ll make the perfect second husband.
But is Patrick too good to be true? Can you really find prince charming online?
These are questions Lydia is forced to ask when her world begins to collapse. First, the police say Adam may have been murdered. Then, her daughter turns against her, and her business disintegrates.
Lydia is convinced that someone is trying to destroy her happiness. But she’s wrong—they want so much more than that...

Gripping tale
This author writes a good story which keeps you listening. Deep enough for you to get involved but not too complicated. Patrick sounds sinister from the start. Not predictable as such but not too twisty. Not my favourite from this author. The detail about the teacher friend taking time off to look after Lydia annoyed me. You most certainly cannot just take time off as a teacher!!

So dull
I bought this book as I do really enjoy Miranda Rijks (other) books! Unfortunately I bought this book before the current reviews...which are accurate. I would definitely not recommend Roses are Red, its about a really foolish woman - very predictable, very dull and very hard to finish.

Predictable waffle
I listened to it all because I'd started but it really wasn't enjoyable. It seemed to drone on and on about money and things... also the main character was a gullible idiot, not a typical mother who woupd put her kids first 🙄

Miranda is my new favourite authoress
This is the second audiobook that I have listened to by Miranda Rijks and it is superbly narrated by Helen Day.
It is a story full of twists and turns, seeming on occasion to be a tad predictable at times, before going off on a completely different tangent and even I ended up trusting no one, let alone Lydia!
I spent the wee small hours of this morning finishing this one and am looking forward to my next M R listen.
