Summary

Will DCI Andy Gilchrist end up like the others - dead, beheaded on a beach?

The middle of winter in St Andrews. When a young woman's half-naked body is found on Fife's Coastal Path, frozen and with remnants of a rope manacle around her wrist, DCI Andy Gilchrist is given the case.

Gilchrist's investigation uncovers a bloody trail of shootings and executions that lead him to the heart of a trafficking war.

Links to Scotland's foremost criminal family, the Home Office and a killer intent on expanding his territory, pull Gilchrist deeper into this murderous web until he comes face to face with the most dangerous man he has ever met.

Awesome part of the whole series.

I'm working through these so more, more, more please. Can't get enough of them. Sufficiently dark and engaging to hook you from the start. Great threads of humanity running through them. Love the characters. Who would think that St Andrews would throw up such deadly, dastardly peeps? Wonderful narration. Bliss.

Best one yet!!

I found this author by accident and have not regretted it! The story's seem to get better and better with every book and so does the story line. I really like a good crime story and was truly surprised on how much l liked, the way this one is written. I really do not want to spoil the plot and give to much away but the added bonus of humour in this one, really made the story for me 😀 just about to start the next book . . . . If you enjoy a good crime story with twists and turns, the l believe you will enjoy this author. Happy listening 😸

Jessie

I couldn’t stand Jessie, disrespectful and downright rude. She wound me up too much to finish the book!

Annoying new character

As others have said Jessie Janes is extremely annoying and not very plausible. No way in real life would she have ever got into the police with her family. Also that level of disrespect would never be tolerated. Who in the real world would still have a job after telling their boss to F off on the first day. Despite this it is till an enjoyable book. Hopefully she will mellow into the next book

Engaging

Very interesting story but, Kumar is not an Arabic name. It’s an Indian name. Thanks.
