Summary
“A unique voice on money, one singularly attuned to...his generation.” (San Francisco Chronicle)
Buy as many lattes as you want. Spend extravagantly on the things you love. Live your rich life instead of tracking every last expense with Ramit Sethi’s simple, powerful, and effective six-week program for gaining control over your finances.
This isn’t typical advice from a money expert. In this completely updated second edition, Ramit teaches you how to choose long-term investments and the right bank accounts. With his characteristic no-BS perspective, he shows how to squeeze every hidden benefit out of your credit cards. Crush debt and student loans. Learn the exact words to negotiate a raise. Set up an automatic payment system and get on with your life. Plus, new material on overcoming psychological barriers, love and money, new investments options, and real audience stories of how applying Ramit’s principles led to a rich life.
“Don’t let the breezy, irreverent style of this book fool you. It contains serious advice on personal-finance decisions, from budgeting and savings to spending and investing.” (Burton G. Malkiel, author of A Random Walk Down Wall Street)

US only
Interesting, but it only applies to the US, which should be mentioned in the audiobook's description.

Great tips to start taking control of your money
Fantastic book, following Ramit "program" I started taking control of my money instead of the other way around. I would recommend this book to anyone who grew up without any guidance on money management.

Brilliant!
This book is brilliant. I have binge listened to it over the past week and am going to take many of the recommendations from it.
Only issue for myself is that many of the terminologies are specific to the US (I live in the UK) that being said the principles are still the same.
Thank you Ramit!

Excellent advice on how to get to the life you want to lead - a “rich” life
Found the advice very useful and it made a difference to how we manage our finances. Before I was just feeling hopeless but now I have a plan. Clear, and easy to follow.
Negatives: it is US based so much won’t apply to the UK. As I read on I actually felt sorry for US customers who get charged for literally everything like a ATM card or cheques or making a simple transaction. So some of the advice about fee free accounts don’t apply to the UK as we do not generally get charged for these things. I got bored through these sections, especially the chapter on bank accounts. But as long as you can translate advice to UK equivalent products, the principles are sound and this book will improve your financial situation.
Thoroughly recommend

One of the best books, even for non-US residents.
Just finished this book and so glad I didn't listen to the grumpy non-US readers. Sure, non-US residents might not have access to some of the opportunities the author talks about, but the 80-90% that was applicable to everyone was extremely valuable.
I started this book because I wanted to learn more about personal finance, and without much effort, by the time I finished it, I had already taken actual steps that would have taken me ages otherwise!
Extra points for the narration! There are so many books out there, especially on this topics that are boring to read/listen to. Ramit Sethi had an incredible talent on making the topic fun and easy to understand.
10/10!!!

Actionable, practical advice and wisdom
This book is packed with amazing tips on managing your finances.
I have corrected my habits and am now much more efficient.
The author has a gift for putting things into perspective and giving solid advice.
P.S. The title is somewhat misleading, this book is not about getting rich.
This book is about managing your personal finances.

Most useful information I’ve ever read: UK reader
I’ve seen a lot of people outside the US complaining about this book because it’s written from US point of view but seriously you just need to Google the alternatives and your country will have something similar. In the UK, we don’t have ROTH IRAs but we have Stocks & Shares ISAs for example. All the techniques he talks about will work no matter where in the world you are.
In the UK we are taught absolutely nothing about money in school whatsoever. This book has taught me how to handle my personal finances, prepare for my future and still enjoy my life. That is invaluable. With my new found knowledge, I am now helping my partner organise and automate his finances too.
Thank you Ramit 🙏🏻

Partial Benefit If Outside Target Audience
Overall enjoyed the book and had some clear and concise strategies for personal finance, highlight was drawing attention to human behaviours that enable bad decision making.
Some of sections were not useful as I didn’t fit the demographic of target audience fully. If you are in the early/mid twenties and unmarried with no kids yet then you can get full benefit, if you’re past these milestones, you have to skip a few parts.
