Summary
The Earth has been sold. What could possibly go wrong?
SHORTLISTED for The Selfies Fiction Award 2021
FINALIST, Page Turner Awards 2021
The location: London. The date: Very, very soon. Beset by multiple crises and buried under a growing mountain of debt, the leaders of the G7 have taken the only logical decision.
They've sold the planet.
When Toby, a penniless student, and his two new flatmates find out one morning on TV, they're surprised to find the Earth's new alien owners are staggeringly cute and bring the promise of a debt-free future. They're just getting ready to celebrate along with the rest of the world, when a chance encounter with a mysterious professor reveals the truth. And there's a glitch: the Earth is about to be destroyed.
Fresh, fun, and fast-paced, How to Buy a Planet is the unforgettable tale of three students on an impossible quest to beat the system. Perfect for fans of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, or sci-fi hero, Doctor Who.

Thought provoking entertaining Sci Fi.
A rather distinctive new voice that definitely adds something to the genre. If you enjoy sci fi that is genuinely thought provoking as well as entertaining then I would recommend this. It is not children's fiction but young adults would enjoy it.

A great book for anyone needing a bit of a lift.
I didn't know I needed to hear this book until I did. Pure escapism, this book will quite literally transport you into another world. Packed full of satire and great characters it had me from the moment they met in the pub.
I love sci-fi but sometimes can find it lacking in humour. I would sit this in the same camp as Red Dwarf and Hitchhikers. Don't panic, it still has some way to go before it reaches their cult status but it's definitely worth a listen if you enjoy either of them.
That said, if you don't like sci-fi this book is also for you as it has great characters, a good plot and lots of action and adventure.

No! Is this a kids book?
I can’t get this book. I hate to be the first reviewer and to not like a book but I’d return this if I could.
I think it’s trying to be funny, but failing. It feels like it’s aimed towards young readers but some of the words used leads me to believe otherwise. It’s very simple, all over the place, the narration is like something out of a children’s tv show.
Another disappointment. I’m finding Audible full of really sub par fiction that I can’t quite get on with.
Not sure if this is trying to be Douglas Adams Esque but it fails sorry.
