About this listen
Gabe Sterling and Danny “Murder” Murdoch carry heavy baggage from the past and have no real reason to be drawn to each other. When they find themselves in an odd sort of friendship, both men are interested in more, but neither thought love was going to be part of the deal.
With a younger nurse who has an affinity for lace and an older mechanic with a tough reputation, Hearts Aflame is a steamy, friends-to-lovers, opposites attract, gay romance.
This is the third book in the Forged in the City series.

Fantastic series
A.D. Ellis created a fantastic series. Gabe and Danny's story was a great addition to already fantastic series, prepare to fall in love with the characters. Bob Brill did another fabulous job with the narration. Hope there are many more series like this to come.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Lace and a charming story
Story: A charming story with a dash of angst and kink to spice it up. The key strength of this story and series in general are the fascinating characters. Coupled with a very well executed found family concept, it makes for a very enjoyable read!
Narration: I really like this narrator's voice!

I love this!
Omgoodness I love this series and this book was my favorite. I hope there are more books coming. A nurse that has a thing for lace panties and a motorcycle mechanic that figures out that he also has a thing for Lacy panties. Not much drama. HEA. I love the characters and all their relationships. The narration was great. I actually listened to this twice in a row. So I definitely recommend this book/series.

I loved this audiobook!
Wowie, smoking hot with a little kink!
Hearts Aflame is the third and final book in this series and boy is it hot. Lace panties may have something to do with that! 😊 While I enjoyed Bob Brill's narration of the first two books, I think he did a fantastic job with this one. I could finally tell a lot of difference in the character voices he used and felt like he performed this book rather than just narrating it. I would definitely listen to more by him if he does any more MM romance books.
Gabe is a nurse and nothing at all like motorcycle mechanic, Danny Murdoch, but right when they first meet, they pretty much click. Well, at least Gabe is super curious about Danny and wants to get to know him better. Danny is very reserved and isn't used to participating in conversations with more than one or two words or grunts. Gabe can't seem to stop talking around him and kissing Gabe seems to be the best way for Danny to shut him up. Danny quickly becomes completely enchanted with Gabe and vice versa.
I loved how these two guys interacted with each other. I especially loved how Gabe was able to bring Danny out of his shell; he become a much happier person. It is sort of an insta-love story but I don't mind those. In the beginning they talk about becoming friends-with-benefits but it doesn't take long for them to know that they have something much more than that.
Both Danny and Gabe have things in their past that make them insecure about their self-worth but together they are able to put that behind them and realize that they have something that can really last. Parts of this story made me tear up – a couple of side characters have health challenges – but parts of it are also really funny. It's hilarious to hear a couple of senior citizen ladies talking about sex and sex toys. (I can say that since I am a senior citizen myself. 😊)
If you've read, or listened to, the Silver in the City series you should really enjoy this book as the "porn" brothers finally get what's coming to them. I'm sorry to see this series end but I know A.D. Ellis will have something new coming for us soon.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Gabe and Danny find family & live
I couldn't wait to finish this last installment in the Forged in the city (3) series. The flow of the story is natural and before you know it you are a couple of hours into it.
Gabe, a nurse and half brother of two of the Silver men, and Danny, a mechanic in the shop below his apartment, hit it off. Gabe gets Danny out of his shell. They find friendship and later love with eachother and find a family, the both craved,of there own making in the process.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes mm books with a HEA and no angst.
The narrator is as good as in the previous books

A really great end to this series!
I really enjoyed this book so much! I loved Gabe to pieces, for being so young and having grown up very lonely he’s loving and caring and I love that he is unapologetically himself, from his love of lace to his nursing career. And his positive and brilliant attitude is what worms its way with Danny, first coaxing him into a friendship and then lighting up the normally broody and silent biker, so much so that his friends hardly recognize him with how much he smiles!
Another tale of found family and unconditional love with a wonderful crew of friends whose bond idìs thicker than blood!

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B
