About this listen

The chilling first novel by filmmaker, composer, and graphic novelist Leopoldo Gout, performed by actor Pedro Pascal (Narcos; Game of Thrones)

Ghost Radio reminded me of early Stephen King. The story sticks with you long after you’ve finished the final page.” (James Patterson)

From the cramped bowels of a dimly lit radio station, Ghost Radio is beamed onto the airwaves. More than a call-in show to tell scary stories about vampires and poltergeists, Ghost Radio is a sanctuary for those sleepless denizens of the night, lost halfway between this world and the next.

Joaquin, the hip, melancholy host, sits deep in a fog of cigarette smoke, fielding calls from believers and detractors alike. He is joined in the booth by his darkly beautiful girlfriend, Alondra, and his engineer, Watts. Soon what began as an underground cult sensation is primed to break out to mainstream audiences. When a huge radio conglomerate offers to syndicate the show and Ghost Radio becomes a national hit with an expanding legion of hardcore fans, neither Joaquin, Alondra, nor Watts is remotely prepared for what is about to happen.

When Joaquin notices a curious and troubling phenomenon, he is inexplicably drawn further and further into the terrifying stories he solicits on the radio. As he slowly loses control over his reality and finds himself unable to distinguish between the real world and the world populated by the nightmares on Ghost Radio, he’s forced to confront his past and his own mortality in order to repair the crumbling wall between the living and the dead.

Great story

I didn’t want it to end. Messed with my perception of the reality I was living.

But the radio noises are veeerryyy loud, much louder than the voice.

An eerie tale to keep you up at night....

Best enjoyed with headphones in the dead of night, this ghostly tale comes alive through the deep silky tones of Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal. Ghost Radio combines a gripping over-arc story dispersed with chilling calls from the stations listeners. Venture down this dark tale at your own peril.

Average but...

An interesting premise within a deeply average story, some flash added to it from the excellent narration.

You won't feel like you have wasted your time.

CAPTURING AND SUSPENSEFUL STORY

A story that you can't wait for the next chapter and event to happen. Scares and uplifts you at the same time. It makes you believe that it could really happen. Excellently read by the narrator, who puts the suspense and calmness into the story and takes you on that journey.

Average, but worth a try

OK, I'm only here for 8hrs of Pedro Pascal's velvety voice. I was not disappointed! Seriously though, he did an excellent job. As for the story, I thought it was interesting enough, I didn't find it scary, good build-up and description of someone possibly losing their mind, but the ending was predictable.

Slow story saved by the narrator

Confusing story that might be better on paper as it jumps all over the place, from location to person. Picked it as I love horror/spooky stories and because of the narrator. Pedro does an excellent job voicing the characters differently but was let down by the writing. I wonder if he was as confused as I was when reading it

Terrifying and thrilling but ultimately a bit dumb

Pascal narrates this book so well! The story builds up nicely though it is a bit confusing at times. Had to go back and rehear sections because I lost track of which character had the POV. The ending was a massive letdown bur I thoroughly enjoyed the rest.

Pablo Pascal

This book was good but a rather bizarre story, I might not have finished it, had it not been read so amazingly well - Pablo Pascal acted every character so brilliantly👏🏻& headed my attention to the end of the book.
