About this listen

Bob Lazar was a brilliant young physicist that found himself employed at a top-secret facility in the middle of the desert outside Las Vegas. Under the watchful eye of the government elite, he is tasked with understanding an exotic propulsion system being used by an advanced aerospace vehicle he is told came from outer space.

The stressful work and long, odd hours start to wear on Bob and he becomes concerned for his safety. He tells his wife and a couple close friends about what he's doing in the desert, and his employers find out and are furious. When they station goons outside his house, Bob seeks help from wealthy UFOlogist, John Lear, who encourages Bob to take his story to award-winning investigative journalist George Knapp at KLAS-TV, a CBS affiliate.

To prove he's telling the truth, Bob takes a group of people out into the desert to watch a test flight of the "flying saucer." On the way home, they are stopped by the police, who notify the base, and Bob loses his job. In a series of interviews with CBS TV, Bob Lazar then blows the lid off "Area 51", blows the whistle on the effort to conceal this craft from the American people, and blows up his career as a top physicist.

Just listen to the podcast...

Wanted more from the book, after listening to the Joe Rogan podcast, I sought out the book but I didn't come away from it feeling like I gained any more than what I'd heard. There is also the Netflix documentary which you should check out...book is fine but just as much as his personal life in it than his actual - and brief - time on S4. An okay listen but not exactly compelling.

Extremely brave and honest

Bob Lazar's story never gets old. I've studied it a bit since 2008 and has always fascinated me. This book is the perfect tale so brilliantly told.

Brilliant

Been a fan of Bob Lazar 's story for a while now. This in depth view into the whole Area 51 event is great.
Got me through a whole shift at work. Looking forward to continuing tomorrow morning.

Thanks.

a good listen and what I expected ..abit drawn out

Let's face it most of you will be downloading this to hear about area 51 and what bob encountered . As you can probably guess this makes up about 20 mins of the audio book, with the rest about him being followed, family life and regrets braking his story. Its still good though and worth the download

Life is a bit "Bob Lazar".

Whether Mr Lazar knows it or not, his name is used in some parts of the world to describe something odd or strange happenings.

Bob's tale has, for many years struck a chord with me; quiet unassuming mad scientists with two failed marriages under our belts, we could be twins apart from Bob being more interesting and better looking!

Life can be very "Bob Lazer" for all of us, especially at the moment, so it's only fitting his name lends itself nicely to replace 'bizarre'...
Because Bob's life has indeed been bizarre and one which, anyone with an interest in Ufology, would have loved to have led. To touch something made by another being or, a lifeform other than humans is a rare, unique, awe-inspiring and ultimately a bizarre experience afforded to very few people.

Yes, I believe Bob's story and, having met Stanton Friedman, perhaps one of Bob's most ardent detractors, I can see both sides of the equation. Sadly Mr Friedman has passed on taking with him his vast experience and disbelief of Bob.

Having spent my working life within HMForces, you get to pick up on certain things; number one being, don't talk about anything related to UFO's, its a career killer.
I've never been involved in anything to do with secret "stuff" so can't comment on the exact position Bob found himself in but, I know not to bite the hand that feeds me because, all sorts of things could happen, such as my history being altered or removed to place doubt in my integrity. Something Mr Friedman dismissed all too readily I feel.

It's testament to Bob that his story hasn't changed despite the years passing and age blurring our lives and experiences. Coupled to this I find Bob's ending of this book being as honest as when he chose his path in life and initially spoke out.
The many people, places, and situations he describes, fill in many blanks and help the reader understand why he chose his path in life, open a window to his personality, how the tragedies he suffered 'may' have influenced or inspired his direction and ultimately the regret and remorse we ALL feel.

Well done Bob and thanks for sharing more than most would.
