Summary

If you like dark and compelling crime thrillers, then you’ll love the acclaimed DCI Yorke series.

Three best-selling high-octane serial killer thrillers in one unpausable audiobook set!

Book 4: Rise of the Rays

They say that lightning doesn't strike the same place twice. How the people of Wiltshire wished that were true.

When Paul Ray decides to burn down his evil family's legacy, he falls into the clutches of those he thought gone.

And now Detective Yorke and his team face a race against time to find Paul before Wiltshire again falls under the dark spell of a ruthless family.

Unfortunately for Yorke, the answers lie in the most sinister of places: the beating heart of a long-dead killer.

Can Yorke find the truth before it's too late? Or will the curse of the Ray family prove too strong?

Book 5: Dance with the Reaper

How do you stop a perfect killer?

After the terrible events of the past year, DCI Yorke's team is on the verge of finding peace. But after a terrifying act of violence shatters their equilibrium, they are forced to dance with a skilled assassin who knows no equal.

After it becomes clear that this hitman is connected to the most shadowy of criminal organizations, Yorke is forced to dive into his own past and face a future in which he is either alone or dead.

Can Yorke and those he holds dearest survive the Reaper? Or will this be one dance too many?

Can’t wait for next book

Absolutely gripping, DCI Yorke kept me on the edge of my seat. As a retired officer I could feel his pain having to leave family to go to work. No spoilers but god help the doctor who has seen fit to hurt Lacey can’t wait for him to get his just deserts !

Listener received this title free

Sorry to reach the end!

This is a superb boxset concluding the DI York series. The characters are well developed throughout and are very likeable, at least the goodies are! All the books are fast paced and addictive listening, I did at least take a break between books 5 and 6 but only to listen to another 1 book before i needed to finish the boxset. We say goodbye to some friends in the series but prepare to meet them in another life.
4 Rise of the Rays
Mike York and his team are investigating the whereabouts of Paul Ray in this book 4 in the series, will they find him before it's too late?
5 Dance with the Reaper
York and co are entangled with an old/new adversary in this book 5, Who is controlling who?
6 Christmas with the Conduit
In this final story York and Gardener are once again pitted against the Conduit, a ruthless murderer who takes over other peoples minds and makes them commit atrocities. Will they finally take him down?
Aubrey Parsons narration throughout all these books is brilliant. Highly recommended.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

Compulsive listening

Narrator clearly defined each character - though Patricia’s voice was truly awful!
Each of the books was compelling listening. I raced through them as I couldn’t wait to discover what twist & turn the stories would take next.

Really warped criminals so glad they’re characters in a book

I often worry about how authors write such warped criminal characters and I’m so glad these ones are trapped in this book

Wes Markin is either someone who should be living in secure unit or has a horrific imagination…

He does weave stories that can’t be put down as I have to get to the end and hopefully the criminal’s demise or imprisonment though occasionally they may get away.

I look forward to reading more Yorke books and also Wes Markin’s other series

Aubrey Parsons is a brilliant narrator

Grisly subjects and too shocking to read

Should come with a warning about cannibalism and exceptional violence. Just not the sort of things I want in my head. Audible needs to put out a warning to potential listeners about the content, I have been a listener for well over 10 years and rarely write a bad review but I just wished I had been warned so I would not have wasted a credit and my time on this horrible sickening content. I returned it.
