'Curtain Call To Murder positively explodes with the double-entendres and vicious wit that has become his trademark.' DAILY EXPRESS

A murder on stage. A cast full of suspects. Can dresser to the stars Jayne unravel the mystery?

It is opening night at the London Palladium, and tensions are running high amongst the feuding cast of "Leopard Spots." Amongst them are an ageing lothario, a national treasure, an amateur psychic and a comedian-turned actor all vying for the spotlight.

When an on-stage accident forces an unexpected intermission, it is clear only to dresser to the stars Jayne that the drama has turned deadly. Can she step out of the wings and identify the killer before it is too late? Or will murder make an encore...

Brilliant

Really good plot which was woven expertly into the world of the theatre (and Julian Clary). Narration was excellent and I loved the additional asides.

Clever plot, until the final denoument there were still 2 potential killers, although one was the more likely

Enjoyed JC's intercalated explanations, comments and especially his scurrilous ejaculations (or should that be interjections?).

Once you get used to the format it's a good story...

Loved all of Julian's prior novels and once I got used to the format of this one I loved it too. BUT...beware, the voice actor who plays the character of Simon and Robin (amongst others) is horrendously bad. He pronounces Leopard Spots (the name of the play in the book) leo-pold spots. It grates so hard that I had to fast forward at some points when he was speaking. All the other narrators pronounce it correctly as lep-ard spots, so it seems whoever reviews these audio books for continuity thought it wouldn't be picked up by listeners and it would do. Yes it was. And yes it was bloom' irritating especially as that voice actor narratated key characters. And no it won't just do. Hence the low rating for the performance as, sadly, he brings the whole cast down.

An easy listen.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this. It took me a while to get into the story but I found myself laughing out loud. An enjoyable romp. with plenty of name dropping.

Laugh out loud

Absolutely wonderful, I would give it a million stars if I could, great story, funny characters and made even more fabulous with Julian himself a character

I'm giving this one a standing ovation

Absolutely loved everything about this. Telling the story through diary entries, articles, whatsapps, etc really added something for me. The characters & plot were strong & everything was neatly tied up at the end. Julian's trademark wit is in clear evidence here too, fans will not be disappointed. This is the first audiobook I've listened to with multiple narrators & it worked well. Fingers-crossed for a sequel!
