It was fine but no more.

Well narrated. Some very interesting ideas. I found Felix & Alice's side hard work.

A nice but unbalanced book

The first half of the book was quite interesting but at about 40-80% of the book it become unreadable/unlistenable. Not a lot happens in this book and yet there is so much dialogue that is mainly Sally Rooney describing things that don’t need to be described. The final 20% was interesting and actually contained something other than a description of each characters every movement and surrounding.
The narrator is great. There are some NSFW parts that I wasn’t expecting and don’t really add much to the story besides explicit detail of the characters sex. Overall, I doubt I will be reading this again but it wasn’t horrible. Overall 3.5 stars

Preferred previous two books

The story was ok but the emails Eileen sends to Alice …SO boring !
Both the female characters like sex but they are up tight when they are not in bed !
They are 20 something but don’t seem to have a “laugh” at all !
Worth a listen but not as good as previous books .

Beautiful

I'm really enjoying Sally Rooney. Her characters are so interesting and i love the way she writes. Its so matter of fact. Normal People is still my favourite so far but this is very good too. Another excellent performance by Aoife. I could listen to her all day long!

poetic with lovely imagery

lovely, poetic writing. I loved the characters and the email/in-between chapters. a few things didn't get tied up and the ending felt very rushed and fell flat. I enjoyed the most part.

mixed feelings

Dnf @ch.17 out of 30.
I mean the ideas in this book are great! I was lost in the depth of some of them.
But, I didn't like the structure of writing.. I got bored.
I also felt I'm lost all the time.. I don't get what's the point of the characters/their story .. kinda bored.

To be fair.. the ideas in this book are worth exploring and reading, but it did not capture my whole attention to be able to continue reading it.

There are so many books that I wanna read.. I won't continue reading smth unless I am totally invested in it.

I'll be reading other books by Rooney for sure!❤️

A good book to dip in and out of

Well read, with good character distinction. I felt attachments to all characters and enjoyed hearing about everyone’s lives both separately and together. An easy read/listen.
