About this listen
The secluded rental cabin offers Jim Traynor exactly what he needs: peace and quiet to finish his latest book, and maybe a little inspiration for a new series. There’s even a little dog named Buster to provide an adorable distraction. Buster’s owners, however, bring distraction of a very different kind. Jim’s determination to focus on his work doesn’t stop his delicious fantasies, but each new encounter with Julian and Michael makes him forcefully aware of the aching desire building within him.
Julian and Michael have built a wonderful life together. Then Jim’s arrival rocks it to its foundations. Julian is drawn to the quiet writer, aware of an intensifying connection between them. Michael feels that same magnetic pull, but remains haunted by the past: They’ve been down this road before. Reaching the end of it broke Julian’s heart, something Michael will not let happen again. He strives to be the strong one, but with every passing night, he’s falling for Jim just as hard as Julian is.
Both men know Jim can only hurt them if they let him in. The trouble is, Jim might already be through that door. If he is, the day will come when he’ll walk right back out of it.
Only this time, how many hearts will be broken?
*The bears featured in this story are strictly of the human variety. Any resemblance to bear-shifters - okay, they’re furry - is purely coincidental.

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit (as every time), to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

An amazing MMM romance!
I love to hear the narration of my favorite books as a way to reread them again and again, so when I got the opportunity to hear the performance of this amazing book made by one of my favorites narrators, I couldn't stop until the very end. Mr Solo made an outstanding job with the wonderful characters in the book managing beautifully all the dynamic between them, the few angst situations and the little kink involved. I got caught by the intense chemistry between Julian, Michael and Jim and how everything was solved in this very cleaver plot written by Ms Wells. The story, the characters and of course, Mr Solo, made this book one of the best I heard this month.

Hot, well written and a feel-good book
Hot, well written and a feel-good book
I loved this story, it was heartfelt, and the way they brought in a new lover was just endearing. The characters are well written. The story developed well along with the relationships.
We get a HEA in the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and the excellent narration from John Solo helped. Although, like usual, I sped up the audio, and I listened at 1.35 speed on audible.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧 A Smoking🔥Hot Trifecta!
I loved everything about this audiobook, from K.C. Wells’ wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to perfectly casted narration performed by John Solo. The story is original and entertaining, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. I adored the three lead characters, they are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Jim Traynor, a writer, rents a cabin in the woods for a month with hopes to finish his latest book. He was happy to hear there were no other renters around ensuring he will be getting the peace and quiet that he wants. But then he meets the owners of resort, Julian and Michael, and their dog Buster. Julian and Michael are both artists, they moved to a more remote area, have their own studios to work in and rent cabins to visitors. They also like to invite a third into their relationship, one they both agree on, it has worked for them for many years, well mostly worked. Both of them liked what they saw in their new visitor and even though they were not sure if he was gay they sill invited him over for dinner and cocktails. Jim accepts the invitation and the three have an easy conversation, after finding out what he writes Michael fanboys on him. The three hit it off, Julian and Michael agree to give it a go with Jim, Jim explains that he is gay but has been celibate for a while, after learning what the two want he is interested. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted and contains a whole lot of heart and steamy romance too. K.C Wells thank you for another enjoyable and entertaining novel.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, John Solo is a bear of a man, he is perfectly casted to bring these characters and their story to life. He does an awesome job portraying the characters, giving each their own distinct voice and personality, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. I love how he takes each role and makes it his own, sounding believable and just as I picture the characters to sound. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fabulous listen🎧

Sexy mmm!
Low-angst mmm story where a married couple, Julian and Micheal, are used to invite men in their bed. What has always just been a bit of fun becomes so much more when they meet Jim. None of them is prepared for the onslaught of emotions and the depth of their feelings. Furthermore Jim has never really been in a relationship, let alone one with two men...
I loved that the story is about older men, Julian and Michael are in their early fifties and Jim is 36.
John Solo always adds that certain something to every story he narrates!

Such a great ménage story!
First thing: I have to say how much I love this cover and how much it fits the book. I don’t always pay attention to book covers because I only read ebooks or listen to audiobooks, but this one is outstanding.
I actually read this book earlier in the month and then got the chance to listen to and review the audiobook. Other than commenting on John Solo’s fantastic performance of this audiobook, there isn’t much else I can say that I didn’t already say in my original review of the ebook. John is one of my go to audiobook performers. He doesn’t just read the books, he actually performs them and I think he is a great voice actor.
Note: at the end of this audiobook there is an excerpt chapter for Finn’s Fantasy. The copy I listened to started up the excerpt immediately after “the end” was spoken for Bears in the Woods with no introduction to let you know what was coming. Not a big deal but I thought it’s worth a mention.
Original review:
It’s been a while since I’ve read an MMM book. Actually, I think the last one was also a K.C. Wells story. 😊 I haven’t read a book of hers yet that I didn’t love and Bears in the Woods is no exception.
I really enjoy reading books where one of the MCs is an author. I think it’s because I figure that there’s at least some little nugget of the book that’s letting me look into the real life of an author. 😊 I know from following a lot of authors on Facebook that writers block is a feared and real-life dilemma that many have faced.
Jim Traynor has been writing the same characters for many books and he’s ready for a change, but first he must wrap-up this last one. He’s rented a cabin near Yosemite National Park so he can have the solitude he craves. He’s not looking for any kind of relationship, in fact hasn’t ever had one because he doesn’t want to deal with the fallout if it ends.
Julian and Michael Ingram own the cabin that Jim has rented for a month; that’s longer than anyone has ever rented one before. They are curious about him but also don’t want to disturb him; their cute little dog, Buster, has other ideas. I love Buster and how he is woven into this story. Julian and Michael are a committed, married couple but they also sometimes allow a third man to play with them. They both get a zing when they meet Jim and want to see if he’s interested in them.
There is so much feeling in this book and it comes through loud and clear in KC’s writing. Her description of the area made me want to visit there again (it’s been over 50 years). It’s a super sexy and steamy story but I could also feel the love between the three guys. I also loved Jim’s agent and how she handled his revelation and helped him with his decision to join Julian and Michael. The book has a great ending but I wouldn’t mind reading another story about them after they’ve been together for a year or so.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Mmmarvelous & Beautifully Performed by J. Solo
Originally released chapter by chapter for KC Wells’ newsletter subscribers Bears in the Woods is now available as an ebook, as well as in audio. Beautifully performed by John Solo, he brings these three very different men to life.
Thank goodness I was able to listen to this story in its entirety, because if I'd had to wait for monthly installments I would have gone crazy! (We know these three men are going to find a happily ever after, but the anticipation of waiting for KC Wells to give it to them would be too much for me LOL.)
This is a sweetly emotional story with very little angst. And, of course, KC Wells writes some of the hottest erotica I've ever read, and it's even better when we're talking ménage with a splash of kink!
Long-time couple Julian and Michael, while in a very satisfying relationship, are still missing the connection they experience when they bond with a third man.
Jim, who has been celibate for years, thinks he's in a good place. Once he meets Julian and Michael he realizes what he's been missing.
A friendship evolves between the three men, and their mutual physical attraction can't be ignored. Julian and Michael gradually coax Jim into their bed, and all three of these confident men let down their walls.
I really appreciate the way this group communicates. Their honesty about both their emotions and their physical needs is refreshing, and is simply a pleasure to read.
