About this listen
Thich Nhat Hanh is a holy man, for he is humble and devout. He is a scholar of immense intellectual capacity. His ideas for peace, if applied, would build a monument to ecumenism, to world brotherhood, to humanity' Martin Luther King, Jr, in Nobel Peace Prize nomination It was under the bodhi tree in India 2500 years ago that Buddha achieved the insight that three states of mind were the source of all our unhappiness: ignorance, obsessive desire and anger. All are equally difficult to control but, in one instant of anger, lives can be ruined, and our spiritual development can be destroyed. Twenty-five centuries after the Buddha's insight, medical science tells us that the Buddha was right: anger can also ruin our health. It is one of the most powerful emotions and one of the most difficult to change. Thich Nhat Hanh offers a fresh perspective on taking care of our anger as we would take care of a baby crying - picking it up, talking quietly to it, probing for what is making the baby cry. Laced with stories and techniques, Anger offers a wise and loving look at transforming this difficult emotion into peace and for bringing harmony and healing to all the areas and relationships in our lives that have been affected by anger.

One to keep coming back to. Narrated beautifully.
One to keep coming back to. Narrated beautifully. The book helped me be a more mindful parent, child and overall person. The calming narration soothes when things get prickly and tense within. My only criticism would be to have the chapters labelled so we know where to come back to when we do.

A lovely listen
I have read and listened to lots of self help books but this one finds a really lovely and calm way to assist and the message is a powerful one. If everyone listened to this audio book and practiced the teachings there is absolutely no doubt the world would be a calmer place!

A book for every one
I wish that I had known this wisdom when I was. Younger... I could have saved years of suffering for both. Myself and the people I love

Excellent and Practical
I listened to Thich Nhat Hahn's words as I struggled with my fury about a personal situation. I had been angry and said and done things I felt ashemed about. As I listened compassion grew in me and a sense of both control and accountablilty. I was able to understand where the anger came from and to make sense of it. By doing so I was able to begin to 'cool the flames' as it were. I would recommend this book to anyone who has been angry and feels horrible about it. It is not a self excusing squirmiing out of responsibility but instead encourages a reflective hard look at oneself, a forgiveness and a way to start again.

A beautiful book
There aren't many people who don't get angry and none who don't have the capacity for it. Thich Nhat Hahn is a skilled teacher and everything in this book makes perfect sense. It addresses the causes and manifestations of anger and how it may be uprooted.
